Job Description
We have two roles available for a Clinical Research Technician: one overnight shift starting between 10 PM to 12 Midnight, and one rotating shift. The rotating role involves three shifts with start times varying between 5 AM to 7 AM for the first shift, 2 PM to 4 PM for the second shift, and 10 PM to 12 Midnight for the third shift. There will be a weekend shift every other week, and schedules are typically set 2-3 weeks in advance. This position entails working with Clinical Research Nurses and Clinical Research Coordinators to manage Phase I Clinical Trials.
ResponsibilitiesAccurately perform blood pressure, venipuncture, weights, pulse, respiratory rate, and temperature readingsPreparation and accurate recording of ECGs/HoltersCollection and processing of biological samples as specified in the protocol and ensure proper distribution of those samplesMonitor meals to ensure dietary compliance by research participantsAssist in the preparation of rooms and medical equipmentAssist with screening procedures as neededMaintain a clean, safe, and efficient working and study environmentEstablish respectful relationships with study participantsAccurately record all research data obtained or observedAssist with quality control of source documents and case report formsMaintain a basic understanding of current regulatory requirementsAttend all required meetings, as appropriateAssist, as necessary, with study proceduresMaintain accurate records of all work undertakenMaintain skills to perform all study tasks, as requiredMaintain constant awareness of participant safety and dignity at all timesHandle participant complaints efficiently and effectively to ensure their satisfactionEnsure client and participant confidentiality is maintainedRespond to client and team queries in a timely mannerTake ownership for the quality and standard of own workAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma, CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT or BS Degree in Science/Healthcare0-2 years of experience in science, healthcare, or research experience.Phlebotomy experience is nice to haveWork Environment
The candidate will work in a Phase I Clinical Research Unit located in Madison, WI. The work environment involves working with advanced medical equipment and requires adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The dress code is professional, and the work hours will vary based on the shift schedule.
