Clinical Resource Coordinator, Occupational Health

The Clinical Resource Coordinator functions as the clinical nurse provides support to the Operations Manager in the planning, coordinating, staffing and supervision of nursing care delivery to ensure efficient and effective patient care. Responsible for compliance with departmental and regulatory standards of care and practice.

In collaboration with nurse practitioner, CRC provides nursing care for pre-employment screenings and is responsible for prevention, investigation and treatment of workplace related illness and injury with best practice.

Maximizing the employee’s own self-care abilities, the Clinical Resource Coordinator uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate clinical strategies leading to establish a health, safe work environment.  Utilizes clinical assessment skills to maximize patient access to appropriate care at the appropriate time.

Problem solving, coordination of assignments and schedules, and evaluating of clinical staff performance. CRC serves as the clinical resource for the practice.

 

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Current NYS Registered Nursing license required. Current BLS required. AAACN certification preferred.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Education:  ASN in nursing required. 

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing that includes experience with nursing assessment, patient education, and nursing care plan development.

Clinical triage experience required. Leadership experience, 1- 2 years in a clinical setting required; ambulatory care setting preferred. Strong communication skills

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills necessary to correspond with employees, outside companies, patients and third party payers. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other professionals in a direct and positive manner. Demonstrated ability to lead a clinical team and mentor non-licensed clinical personnel. Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to prioritize patient care and tasks. Maintains knowledge of all policies and procedures related to patient care.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

 The position is located indoors in a normal office environment.  Should be able to push/pull 25 lb., lift/move 15 lb. from floor to table, be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a key board, writing and filing for extended periods of time.  Must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers.  Mobility requirements may include the ability to sit at a computer terminal or work station for a prolonged period of time in addition to being able to squat, stand and walk for a reasonable length of time and distance.  Sensory requirements include the ability to articulate and comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to read the English language.

 

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilitates regular clinical staff meetings and daily huddles to maintain open lines of communication and awareness of expectations to all clinical team members; Clinical staff schedule (Coordinate with Operations Manager / Director) Acts as liaison for employees, providers and other care team members; Partners with office administrator manager? for the evaluation of clinical staff by completing and/or providing Clinical feedback for the annual Performance Evaluations as well as probationary evaluations; Responds to patients’ clinical concerns and performs service recovery when needed; Performs POC testing and manages POC competencies for clinical staff within the practice. The CRC must sign off clinical point of care competency validations and maintain up-to-date records of competencies; Point of Care daily/weekly/monthly Quality Control/ Verifying data is transmitted/recorded daily (EKG, logs) Enforce Scope of Practice with clinical staff; ensure clinical staff are working within scope of practice; Joint Commission rounding – the CRC is responsible for the maintenance of best practices and Joint Commission standards as they apply to the practice(s) to which the CRC is assigned to; The CRC should performs weekly JC tracers and initiates corrective action for applicable findings; including hand hygiene audits; Anticipates patient equipment and supply needs and delegates responsibility for ordering and delivery of these itemsl Promotes and reinforces clinical policy and procedure; escalates as needed to practice administrator. Works in collaboration with clerical staff for patient scheduling concerns Able to respond appropriately to clinical emergencies in the office Delegation and monitoring of clinical tasks/responsibilities;  Ensures all clinical documentation and correspondence is complete in EMR; Rooms patients as needed to maintain efficient flow of practice schedule. Back up staff with any needs (rooming, injections etc.) Audit documentation in charts Other duties as assigned / as required

 

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Completes Employee Health visits per organization policy and department protocols. Rooms patients as needed to maintain efficient flow of practice schedule Provides safe, competent and efficient nursing care for minor and acute work-related injuries and illnesses Participates in preventative screening programs (TB testing, influenza, hepatitis B, MMR, varicella and other appropriate immunizations) and surveillance programs designed to identify and monitor risks to the employee’s health Safely administers and appropriately documents on immunizations Identifies and refers employees with personal health needs to the employee health NP or personal physician when appropriate. Documents employee visits thoroughly and accurately in charting system Responds to employee request for health records Maintains and ensures confidentiality of patient information and medical records. Act as an advocate for the rights of employees by ensuring access to preventative health and safety measures.

Salary Range:  $ 33.71-50.56    /hour                   Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
