Clinical Rounding Assistant
**Summary:** A Nurse Scribe is utilized to relieve the provider of clerical duties; thus allowing the provider to focus more directly on clinical care. A Nurse Scribe’s role is limited to only activities directed by and/or supervised by the attending physician.. The Nurse Scribe observes the attending physician during patient encounters and performs documentation on the provider’s behalf. Under the direction of the provider, the Scribe enters information into the patient’s electronic or written chart. All documentation is reviewed and/or edited by the provider. It is signed with an attestation by the provider that the scribed chart accurately reflects all work performed by the provider. **Qualifications:** 1. Be a graduate of an accredited school or training program / or proper on the job training 2. RN/LPN license and BLS- All patient care areas/ direct patient care positions 3. Have the ability to read, understand and communicate in writing and verbally for job functions in an intelligible manner and to prepare medical record entries and other required documentation in a legible manner 4. Have the requisite training and clinical background to enable the Nurse Scribe to perform duties outlines in the job description 5. Have read and agree to adhere to the Hospital’s Standards of Behavior and other applicable policies 6.
