Description:The Clinical Social Worker/Counselor uses professional and clinical judgment for initial and ongoing assessment, treatment planning, specialized trauma care and discharge planning; carries a select client caseload; supports the program as otherwise assigned by the program administration; practices within the scope of MCHS and department policies and procedures; practices within the scope of applicable registration or licensure under the Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage and Family Therapist Board of Ohio.

Clinical Social Worker / Counselor, Crime and Trauma Assistance Program

Position Purpose:

The Clinical Social Worker/Counselor uses professional and clinical judgment for initial and ongoing assessment, treatment planning, specialized trauma care and discharge planning; carries a select client caseload; supports the program as otherwise assigned by the program administration; practices within the scope of MCHS and department policies and procedures; practices within the scope of applicable registration or licensure under the Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage and Family Therapist Board of Ohio.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Education: Completion of Masters program in Social Work or Counseling

*Licensure / Certification: Independent licensure by the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Work Board (LISW, LPCC, LMFT) preferred.

* Experience: At least two years of experience with individual and group counseling in trauma.

* Effective Communication Skills

* Awareness of specific issues related to trauma and victimization

* Ability to effectively apply professional training and specialized skills in the treatment of trauma

* EMDR training and certification preferred, willing to obtain within 2 years of employment
