Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist to oversee prescription dispensing personnel and operations during their shift. The role includes ensuring proper techniques, accurate preparation, and compliance with applicable laws for all pharmaceutical products dispensed. The Pharmacist will also be responsible for the final verification of non-sterile and sterile prescriptions, proper packaging, assignment of beyond use dates, final inspection of finished products, and providing proper directions for use. Additionally, the Pharmacist must be willing to train, coach, and counsel all technicians performing non-sterile compounding. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

ResponsibilitiesOversee prescription dispensing personnel and operations during shift.Ensure proper techniques, accurate preparation, and compliance with applicable laws for all pharmaceutical products dispensed.Final verification for non-sterile and sterile prescriptions, including proper packaging, assignment of beyond use dates, final inspection, and proper directions for use.Train, coach, and counsel all technicians performing non-sterile compounding.Participate in shipping and handling of all prescription orders as needed.Adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.Essential Skills1-2 years of Pharmacist experience, ideally from a retail or hospital setting.PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.Ability to cope with varied levels of workload and multiple tasks.Strong time management and organizational skills.Flexible and proactive in meeting varied patient and company needs.Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and people skills.Forward-thinking and planning skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsIntermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and The Compounder (PK software product).Knowledge of QS-1 software is preferred but not required.Ability to use standard office equipment including photocopier, fax machine, and telephone.Knowledge of 3rd party billing.B.S. or PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.Work Environment

You will be working within a closed-door specialty pharmacy in a temperature-controlled environment. Shifts include 2:30pm to 11:00pm, Monday to Friday with Saturday rotations, or 10:00am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday with Saturday rotations. This is an excellent opportunity to get into a specialty pharmacy environment and out of a retail setting, especially as the pharmacy is undergoing an expansion project, opening a brand-new location across the street. There are numerous opportunities for internal growth.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
