Summary: The Clinical Staffing Coordinator (CSC) is a key administrative support position in the Clinical Operations Office, reporting to the Director, House Supervisors (future state \"Manager, Clinical Operations Office\". They are the authority and subject matter expert for the electronic scheduling platform, and a key component of the clinical schedule building process for acute patient care departments, ensuring coverage is balanced across the organization for nursing and nursing support personnel. The CSC also maintains active training and competency documentation for the CHESS Team (float pool) and assists their Director and the Administrative Supervisors with utilizing CHESS to fill open shifts and keep departments operational. The CSC serves as the pay clerk for all Nursing Operations Office personnel and assists their director in closely monitoring all staffing and scheduling functions for the nursing departments to ensure responsible labor costs, nurse to patient ratios, incentive pay usage, and productivity. This role also supports coordination and administrative functions for the New York State Department of Health mandated Clinical Staffing Committee that is led by a designated Administrative Supervisor and comprised of elected front-line nursing and nursing support representatives.\n

Roles and Responsibilities\n\nServes as the subject matter expert, administrator & training coordinator for the electronic scheduling platform.\nResponsible for daily review and support of caregiver staffing levels across the acute care nursing departments:\n\nCMC Emergency Department\nSH Emergency Department\nCMC Medical\/Telemetry\nSH Medical\/Telemetry\nShort Stay Surgical Unit\nIntensive Care Unit (ICU)\nPMRU (rehabilitation unit)\nBehavioral Science Unit (BSU)\nPost Anesthesia Unit (PACU)\n\n\nReceives employee call-offs, updates electronic schedule & coordinates coverage with Admin Supervisor & department leadership\nCoordinates department requests for CHESS Team nursing support\nResponsible for auditing & correcting electronic time\/department records for CHESS Team personnel & staff floated between departments\nScheduling of Staffing Committee meetings, maintenance of meeting minutes, & coordination of the election process to select department committee representation\nCreate & distribute nursing department schedule building templates to department leaders\nReceive house requests for sitter services & coordinates with Admin Supervisor to allocate resources \nSupports the Support-Resource-Respond Nurse (SRRN) program with record keeping providing the Rapid Response & Code Blue Committee with data\nSupports the Code Blue & Rapid Response Committee as needed with scheduling, record keeping, response statistics\n\n

Required Skills and Experience\n\nEducation: High School Diploma (or equivalent)\n2-3 years of experience in a healthcare environment, supporting operations in a medical office, acute care hospital, or emergency services organization\nStrong computer business application & keyboarding knowledge; Experience with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, & Excel required\nAbility to effectively communicate through written and verbal methods\nExperience with creating & maintaining staffing schedules & electronic timekeeping\nAbility to organize and maintain employee credentialing & competency files and records; maintain documentations in a ready state for inspection according to standards\nresource allocation & daily workflows\nExperience with providing services to customers from both inside & outside of their organization. \nComfortable managing phone requests for services & support \nAbility to adapt competently function in a fast paced & dynamic environment to support 24\/7 operations of all clinical areas of the hospitals\n\n

Preferred Skills and Experience\n\nPrevious experience & knowledge working with electronic scheduling & payroll systems\nExperience being responsible for the daily operations of a hospital or medical office\nOffice manager experience\nAssociate or bachelor's degree in business or management related field\n\n

Physical Requirements\n\nAbility to sit for periods of time to perform data entry\nAbility to move freely around the nursing divisions as needed to gather information\n\n

Pay Range Disclosure:\n\n$20.50 to $26 per hour\n\n
