Job Title: Clinician Supervisor, ATI

 

Job Summary:

 

The Clinician Supervisor, ATI plays a key leadership role in CASES’ Court Services Department, overseeing the clinical and operational delivery of Alternatives to Incarceration (ATI) services. This position provides culturally responsive supervision and management in support of CASES’ mission to reduce incarceration, improve behavioral health outcomes, and promote equity and opportunity for justice-involved individuals.

Working at the intersection of behavioral health and the criminal legal system, the Clinician Supervisor ensures high-quality court engagement, effective staff supervision, and strong partnerships with court stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings expertise in court procedures, behavioral health needs, and diversion services, and is adept at navigating the fast-paced, high-stakes courtroom environment.

The Clinician Supervisor directly supports staff development, provides clinical guidance, and ensures program participants are accurately assessed, engaged, and referred to appropriate community-based services. The Clinician Supervisor plays a critical role in promoting successful outcomes for youth, young adults, and adults facing court involvement across New York City.

 

Salary: The salary for the Clinician Supervisor, ATI position is $81,000 per year. 

Shift Hours: The Clinician Supervisor, ATI works from Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm. 

Location Address: 320 Jay St, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11201 – Court Office, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx Court Offices as needed

What you will be doing:

Provide culturally competent oversight, supervision, and management in accordance with CASES policies and the delivery of excellent Court services to address the needs of youth, young adults, adults, individuals with behavioral health needs, and the race and ethnicity, sexuality, gender, and criminal justice history of defendants and program participants. Supervise staff in the intricacies of court procedures, and CASES programs, especially eligibility criteria.Provide clinical supervision and training to staff and make recommendations for optimal efficiency of court procedures and engagement with stakeholders. Perform other related duties as assigned by Director. Develop and maintain excellent professional relationships with Judges, District Attorneys, defense counsel, Forensic Psychiatric Centers, Probation, and other court partners to facilitate referrals, program admissions, and maintain CASES’ credibility in Court.Review referrals to determine a person’s eligibility for CASES’ programs, including arrest case information, RAP sheet, attorney recommendations, and preliminary information about participant needs to assign case for assessment. Ensure court-ready comprehensive reports and verbal advocacy in advance of scheduled court dates. Collaborate with CASES’ ATI IAT and program leadership responsible for community-based services to ensure participants achieve successful engagement in recommended services.Engage potential participants and their legal representation in and around the Courtroom.

 

What we are looking for:

Master's in social work, mental health counseling, or comparable professional degree. NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC). Licensed eligible candidates will be considered At least two years supervisory/ management experience At least three years of experience in human services with individuals with serious mental illness and those with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.Experience understanding family systems based on diversity of cultural and ethnic backgrounds Experience understanding various evidence-based models and theories pertaining to psycho-education, motivational interviewing, serious mental illness and recovery
