Provides technical supervision of section and accountable for the professional conduct and technical performance of personnel within area. Holds staff accountable for the accurate and timely completion of assigned activities (20%) Monitors employees┐ performance and department TATs. Investigates and reports suggestions for corrective action to operations coordinator and supervisors. (20%) Performs troubleshooting as needed; to include missing samples and follow up on problems (20%) Participates in QA initiatives. Collects shift data required for QA monitors (10%) Ensures that staff follow laboratory policies and procedures, including safety and security (5%) Completes action logs, preventative maintenance logs and pending lists daily (10%) Continuously assesses work processes and makes suggestions to supervisor for improved work methods and ways to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and solve operational problems (2%) Assumes responsibility for defining priorities during extraordinary situations (i.e. sick calls, safety and security incidents, emergency, disaster situations). (2%) Works with supervisory team and laboratory staff to plan for and accomplish departmental and organizational goals and objectives. Promotes and supports a positive team environment within the department. (5%) Participates in evaluating employees.
