Clinical Technician 1 position on the Med Surg Unit at Inova Alexandria Hospital (Full Time Night Shift)
The Clinical Technician 1 assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Communicates and collaborates with care team members to implement the plan of care to meet individualized and developmental patient care outcomes. Partners with the Registered Nurse to create a professional development plan to gain the necessary skills to deliver up to date patient care and utilizes information to continuously improve patient care and practice while enhancing outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Provides basic activities of daily living nursing care (eg. bathing, feeding) and measurement of vital signs and intake/output. Demonstrates competency in all required clinical skills and technologies in accordance with IHS policies and procedures. Completes assigned patient duties within the time frame established. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development in providing care for the patient population assigned. Completes necessary documentation accurately each shift. Reinforces discharge teaching and home care skills. Communicates and collaborates with care team members implement the plan of care to meet individualized and developmental patient care outcomes.Shift: Nights (6pm - 6.30am)
Schedule: Three 12 hour shifts per week (with every other weekend rotation)
Training: Ideal candidate must be able to attend a 6 week training course
