Overview: The position of Clinical Therapist provides a unique opportunity to help families in crisis by providing individual and family interventions with a focus on interpersonal violence and Trauma. The role for this Clinical Therapist will involve providing counseling for DV survivors (Audlts and Children).  The "CT" is provided parent education program training, Triple P which would allow them to use both clinical and visitation clients as applicable.

 

 

 

Responsibilities Provide empirically-supported interventions to individuals, families, and children who have experienced various forms of violence (including community, interpersonal and domestic violence).Provide comprehensive intake, evaluation and assessment of prospective clients. Initiate and maintain regular contact with assigned clients; conducting regular visitation and counseling sessions based on family or individual need. Maintain case record, narratives and statistical information.Devise and implement person-centered goals or visitation plans and interventions, in collaboration with clients.Provide court documentation and testimony as warranted, including recommendations to the court, attorney and other parties concerned, regarding custody or other case-specific clinical issues.Demonstrate cultural competence and trauma-informed practice by integrating the understanding into daily responsibilities. Services take place Monday-Friday but can be flexible between the hours of 8:30AM-7:00PM Monday-Thursday and between 8:30AM-5:00PM on Friday.Participate in mandatory and recommended training programs. Have the opportunity to be trained and practice Evidence Based Models, such as but not limited to: EMDR, PCIT, FFT, in addition to others Qualifications Minimum Master’s Degree in a Human Services related field with the ability to become licensed. Licensure is not required at the time of hireRelevant experience in serving children and families in child welfare, developmental disabilities, behavioral health, primary health care, or social servicesExperience coordinating and participating in team settingsSolid writing and verbal communicationWork effectively and knowledgeably across a broad spectrum of cultural, ethnic, and racial communitiesAbility to effectively manage time in a focused manner when self-directed and beyond immediate oversightAbility to deliver family-driven, youth-guided services, and to adhere to practice modelsRequires computer proficiency including word processing skills and the ability to provide culturally competent practice Must have valid driver’s license that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirementsMust have access to reliable transportationProvide assistance and /or intervention with children
