Starting Salary: $84,972 annually
This position is funded through a grant and this employment opportunity is contingent on the availability and continuation of the grant supporting this position. The City will provide sufficient notice when the grant and employment opportunity expires.
This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City’s collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) – BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

Under general supervision, the class provides professional therapeutic treatment services in a supervisory and administrative capacity, and performs related duties as required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Assists inthe administration ofTherapeutic Programs andin the coordination ofcase management services to clients.Follows the Policies and Procedures of Chicago Fire Department Employee Assistance Program. Responds to critical incidents and crisis interventions and follows procedures regarding Line of Duty Death, major accident, or incident that created an emotional impact to Chicago Fire Department employees. Writes and reviews Treatment plans for clients prepared by outside agencies or therapist. Provides brief psychotherapy for clients. Provides clinical direction for para-professional volunteers to respond to a critical incident. Manages a therapeutic program, coordinating case management services to clients and overseeing clinical staff to ensure adherence to program goals and standards Assigns caseloads, reviews treatment plans prepared by staff, and facilitates psychotherapy sessions for clinical staff Oversees and evaluates staff performance in all phases of psychotherapeutic treatment Meets with staff to review the status of caseloads and the progress of clientsAssists staff in providing quality services and managing workloadsDevelops and implements objectives and standards for client care Plans and implements staff development, in-service training programs, and case management presentationsMaintains program records and prepares statistical and narrative reports of program activities and accomplishmentsPrepares various administrative reports relating to services provided and clients served Provides counseling and psychotherapy services to employees through a departmental employee assistance programProvides professional diagnostic assessment and psychotherapy to individuals, groups, and familiesConsults with psychiatrists, physicians, clinical therapists, and other staff members to ensure cooperative treatment planningProvides referrals and linkages with outside agencies to obtain additional services needed by clients Conducts and facilitates training seminars

Shift: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday (on call 24/7 as needed)
