How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

Supports the CTaC Manager (CM) by monitoring Clinical Transport (CTx) team daily operations, adherence to established policy & procedure, and customer service activities. Performs/coordinates training for CTx to ensure the highest level of quality and performance. Assists the CM by directing the CTx team in hour-by-hour operations so as to maximize throughput. Supports Carilion’s hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. 
 

Monitors the work of the CTx team for quality and adherence to high standards of customer satisfaction. Primary role: Field supervision of team members. Assists the CM and the CTx team in maximizing the number of inquiries handled by evaluating job trends and developing, recommending, and implementing more efficient methods of completing work. Exercises leadership, coaching, and motivation of the CTx team. Maintains an atmosphere which encourages employee participation in continuous process improvement. Maintains a knowledge base of customer service skills. Observes house transport needs by monitoring TeleTracking TransportTracking and fine-tuning requests with staffing levels to ensure a high level of service. Assists the CM in staff evaluations. Participates in the selection and the discipline of employees when called upon by the CM. Assists the CM in the interviewing and hiring process of new employees. Guides the CTx team in the CM’s absence. Intervenes to resolve complaints regarding job execution. Participates in training new employees with regard to computer systems and customer service. Develops and maintains department-specific policies and procedures, desk references, and assistance tools for the CTx team. Gains professional growth by accessing CornerStone on Demand, attending leadership courses as assigned by the CM and/or Human Resources, and by completing and meeting/exceeding required on-going education. Releases PHI (protected healthcare information) according to HIPAA guidelines. What We Require:

Education: Minimum high school graduate or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum three years’ experience in Clinical Transport preferred. History of direct patient care and familiarity with medical terminology required.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Must possess Nursing Assistant and AHA-BLS credentials upon hire and maintain both during employment; Certified Nursing Assistant preferred. Must have successfully completed a cardiac monitoring course prior to hire.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Must possess superb communication, interpersonal, team building, leadership, motivational, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to lead and motivate staff to develop to their full potential. Must maintain emotional and verbal control in dealing with challenging individuals. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
