JOB SUMMARY

Overall program management including contract outcomes, leadership and supervision, clinical operations, training, fiscal and billing controls, EHR, workplace safety, and policies & procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•            Ensure the facility has family focused services and is trauma informed.

•            Provide mental health and trauma treatment services.

•            Provide individual, family, and group counseling.

•            Create written documentation that is legible, clear, and concise.

•            Participate in case conferences.

•            Work in coordination with CDCR Case Manager, CDCR CC Ill and the Clinical Supervisor in determining step-down services for female offenders.

•            Use intake and screening instruments, using a gender-specific assessment of needs to obtain a complete history and assessment of participant's needs in all rehabilitative areas. Initiates appropriate and timely interventions.

•            Collaborate with the CDCR to complete the assessment and Individualized Treatment and Rehabilitation Plan (ITRP).

•            Develop ITRP of services throughout the continuum of care including ongoing assessment and treatment needs, delivery of therapeutic services, follow-up services for the women to prevent relapse.

•            Provide services offered in the context of family and other relationships including individual, group and family counseling. Provide guidance in determining educational and vocational goals based on the interests and preferences of each woman in addition to individualized assessments.

•            Provide specialized classes, and workshops on relevant topics.

•            Integrate clinical concepts with sound theoretical and practical applications of rehabilitative and individual group and milieu counseling principles.

•            Serve as an appropriate role model for female offenders. Maintain the distinction between therapeutic and social relationships.

•            Develop a treatment alliance with female offenders that is mutual and collaborative, individualized, and continually negotiated. Be a visible advocate for women who abuse substances for stigma reduction and for treatment (within treatment teams, the community, and the system).

•            Provide input to develop and improve program service and delivery.

•            Comply with all MHS and program rules, policies and procedures including HIPAA standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

•            Master’s degree in social work or counseling from accredited institution.

•            Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist OR, registration with BBS as an Associate Clinical Social Worker or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, eligible for supervised licensure status, and shall be eligible for licensure within two years.

•            Good Standing with BBS.

•            Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

•            Experience working with females in a residential setting.

•            The CDCR Secretary's written approval is required for appointment of any ex-offender and prior to any assignment enabling access to employee records, inmate personal medical information, or before receiving a background clearance.

•            If recovering, at least three years of clean and sober, active, and continuous recovery.

•            A valid California Driver’s License.

•            Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite and EHR software.

•            Ability to problem solve and react appropriately to emergency situations.

•            Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team.
