Responsible for counseling and case management services for individuals within the department of Behavioral Health. Counseling techniques are utilized to engage clients in treatment. Assessment and treatment planning are utilized to help clients reach personal goals. Clients are assisted in obtaining entitlements and linkages to other community resources/services. Outreach activities to clients who are ambivalent about services or who miss appointments.
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Masters degree in social work, psychology or closely related field, Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Licensure required commensurate to degree as required by the State of New Jersey. Work requires the ability to prepare detailed assessments of patient referrals, counseling individual, group or family members, or perform other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill. proficiency of Microsoft Office. Valid drivers license required and comply with Qualifications to Drive a System Vehicle as well as all policies as outlined in the SJHS Fleet Management & Safety Program. ACCESS program only: ability to communicate fluently in American Sign Language, familiarity with Deaf Culture and be knowledgeable about current technology in use for individuals with hearing loss.
