Clinician - Behavioral Health Clinician

JOB SUMMARY

The Behavioral Health Clinician completes behavioral health assessments, treatment plans, and provides individual psychotherapy services to assist clients with mental health and substance use disorders. Initiates referrals to the next level of care, and advocates for the best interest of clients. Communicates with State, County and community service partners, including Health and Human Services, Behavioral Health, Justice System, Probation, Courts, and Housing providers.

Conduct initial and ongoing biopsychosocial assessments for clients, including diagnostic reviewProvide services in the community and in client homes Collaborate with treatment team regarding client needs and changes in symptomologyDevelop and evaluate treatment goals and plans in conjunction with the treatment teamConduct risk assessments and engage in safety planning in conjunction with the treatment teamConduct individual counseling including crisis interventionPrepare critical care issues for discussion during supervision and Daily Organizational Staff Meetings.Provide liaison, brokerage, and rehabilitation services to clientsMeet productivity requirements and documentation standards established by the County, MHS, and the ProgramParticipate in Treatment Team Meetings and Peer Review MeetingsProvide information about the program to community agencies connected to the mental health and substance abuse

services system

Comply with all MHS and program rules, policies and procedures including HIPAA standardsComplete additional duties, as assigned by the Program Manager

 

QUALIFICATIONS

BBS-Licensed, Licensed-Eligible, or Waivered, requiredAt least two years of experience providing clinical services to individuals with severe mental illness, preferredProficient with Microsoft Office Suite and EHR softwareKnowledge of DSM-5 Title 9 diagnoses Ability to problem solve and react appropriately to emergency situationsAbility to work independently and effectively collaborate with a teamValid California driver’s license and current auto insurance coverageMust be able to communicate clearly, both in writing and orally, with employees, management and co-workersHighly organized, thorough and able to self-monitor work for qualityMust be dependable, able to follow instructions, and timely respond to management.
