Clinician I or II - School-Based

The Clinician I, provides clinical, case management and consultation services for children and adolescents with mental illnesses, substance abuse and/or developmental disabilities and their families. Also provides supportive counseling, individual and family therapy, crisis intervention, assessment, Individual Service Plan (ISP) development, psycho-education, and referrals to clients and their families. Provides assessment services to pregnant women and women with dependent children per agency priority population guidelines protocol. Develops and maintains working relationships with: individuals served, families, additional service providers, and other community agencies as needed to ensure quality services. Works as part of a treatment team to ensure services and resources are coordinated among providers as needed to help individuals served live and function optimally in the community.

Clinician I: $46,015-Depending on Experience

Clinician II: $55,683-Depending on Experience

Qualifications 

Demonstrated knowledge of assessment and service plan development for children and adolescent who have emotional disorders is required.  Thorough knowledge of DSM-V, etiology, symptoms, treatments, prognoses.  Must be able to demonstrate problem-solving, critical-thinking ability and work autonomously as well as part of a treatment team. Should be able to recognize early escalation of symptoms and/or situations and respond appropriately with Crisis Intervention.  Must have basic knowledge of agency, local, state, and federal regulations, and standards for clinical services, and related human rights, ethical and legal concerns.  Must have demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written and oral); especially helpful for teaching consumers and family members.  Knowledge of pertinent medical, legal and financial terminology. Knowledge of psycho-pharmacology, psychotropic medication and administration helpful.  Must possess a valid driver’s license (state of Virginia, unless otherwise approved by agency) with an acceptable driving record. Must maintain acceptable record throughout employment.  Must have an acceptable criminal history background and child protective services check upon hire and maintained throughout employment;  Must have acceptable drug screen results upon hire. 

Education/Experience Required: 

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or other licensed-eligible field required.  At least one year of experience in a setting working with children and adolescents with emotional disturbance, substance use disorders, and/or developmental delays is required.  State of Virginia license eligibility in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family or other related field is required.
