Pharmacy Technician - Order Entry

Job Description

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will triage, interpret, and input orders into the computerized medication order system while ensuring accuracy and productivity standards are met. You will perform drug calculations, resolve issues of denials through adjudication, and follow up on claims in the Point of Sale (POS) system. Maintaining current knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and processes, you will produce reports and keep management informed of unpaid claims and claims pending follow-up. Providing excellent customer service to both external and internal customers is essential. You may also assist with drug preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist and perform other tasks as assigned.

ResponsibilitiesTriage, interpret, and input orders into the computerized medication order system.Audit input versus documentation and make corrections as needed.Perform drug calculations including basic mathematical conversions.Resolve issues of denials identified through adjudication and follow up on claims in the POS system.Maintain current knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and processes.Produce reports and keep management informed of unpaid claims and claims pending follow-up.Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers.Assist with drug preparation and dispensing under direct supervision of a Pharmacist.Perform other tasks as assigned, including assisting in any area of the pharmacy as directed by management.Essential SkillsPharmacy technician certification.Data entry skills.Experience in long-term care and filling prescriptions.Pharmacy technician license.Order entry experience.Customer service skills.PTCB/CPHT certification required.At least one year of experience preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Basic understanding of drugs, medication terminology, and the metric system.Ability to operate a computer.Closed door pharmacy experience is a plus.Compounding and pharmacy support experience.Work Environment

This role is based in a long-term care closed door pharmacy environment, involving filling and dispensing, data entry, and IV compounding. The interview process may involve meeting with HR or the current manager in charge. The company offers a structured environment with opportunities for growth within a national organization.

Schedule

Shifts are from 2-11pm, with some weekend work required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00
