Cloud Administrator
Description Overview: As a Cloud Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the organization's cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness. You will deploy and configure cloud services, monitor performance, and implement best practices for cloud operations. Your role will involve working closely with other IT teams and stakeholders to support business initiatives and leverage cloud technologies to enhance productivity and innovation. Responsibilities: + Cloud Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure services, including compute instances, storage solutions, databases, and networking resources, across multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). + Resource Provisioning and Optimization: Provision and manage cloud resources according to business requirements and performance needs. Optimize resource utilization and costs through rightsizing, instance reservations, and usage monitoring. + Security and Compliance: Implement security controls and best practices to protect cloud resources from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats. Configure identity and access management (IAM) policies, encryption, and network security groups (NSGs) to enforce security policies and comply with regulatory requirements. + Backup and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions for cloud-based applications and data. Configure automated backup policies, snapshot schedules, and failover mechanisms to ensure business continuity and data resilience. + Monitoring and Performance Management: Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and cost metrics using cloud-native monitoring tools and third-party solutions. Set up alerts and notifications to proactively detect and address performance issues and optimize resource utilization. + Automation and Orchestration: Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) templates and automation scripts to automate provisioning, configuration, and management tasks. Use cloud-native tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, or Terraform for infrastructure automation and orchestration. + Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues, such as connectivity problems, performance degradation, or service disruptions. Collaborate with cloud service providers' support teams and other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues and minimize downtime. + Documentation and Training: Maintain accurate documentation of cloud configurations, procedures, and operational processes. Provide training and knowledge transfer to IT staff and end-users on cloud technologies, best practices, and security protocols. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate, Google Cloud Certified - Associate Cloud Engineer) are highly desirable. + Proven experience in cloud administration or a similar role, with hands-on experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure in a production environment. + Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts, services, and architectures, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models. + Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, as well as cloud-native tools and services (e.g., AWS EC2, S3, RDS, Azure VMs, Google Compute Engine). + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud issues and perform root cause analysis. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
