At GDIT, people are our differentiator. You will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. GDIT is currently seeking a Virtualization/Cloud Computing Senior SME in Fort Huachuca, AZ. The Virtualization/Cloud Computing Senior SME is responsible for supporting Army networks.

Essential Job Duties

As a Virtualization Infrastructure Senior SME, you will be responsible for:

· Creating an overall cloud architecture approach through design of cloud infrastructure, network and storage.

· Supporting application integration and ensuring that data is properly migrated and managed in secure cloud computing systems aligned to the overall cloud architecture strategy.

· Supporting Denied, Degraded, Intermittent, Limited (DDIL) operations, to include operational employment of cloud edge nodes working in conjunction with platform services running as part of the tactical and regional cloud, and provide technical and strategic expertise to ensure compatibility and scalability of enterprise architectures.

· This role will be the critical link between the cloud infrastructure and operational user for existing and emerging requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

· Education:

MA/MS +10 -OR- BA/BS in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science +12 years of experience managing organizations similar in size, scope, and complexity.

Security Clearance Level: Active SECRET clearance

Required Skills and Abilities:

· Must meet DoD 8140 DCWF 628 requirements

· Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA

· The following certifications:

o Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals

o CompTIA Cloud +

o AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (or equivalent)

· Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience integrating virtualization with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

· In-depth knowledge of storage, networking, and server technologies relevant to virtualization.

· Experience with automation tools for managing virtualized environments.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

· Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

· Candidate should be knowledgeable of:

o Cloud service models and possible limitations for an incident response.

o Cloud-based knowledge management technologies and concepts related to security, governance, procurement, and administration.

o Computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.

o Cyber threats and vulnerabilities, cybersecurity principles and methods that apply to software development.

o Enterprise messaging systems and associated software.

o Risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk).

o Software design tools, methods, software debugging principles and techniques.

o Software development models, methodologies, and practices (Waterfall Model, Spiral, Agile, DevSecOps).

o Use cases related to collaboration and content synchronization across platforms (e.g., Mobile, PC, Cloud).

o Cloud computing deployment models in private, public, and hybrid environment and the difference between on-premises and off-premises environments.

o Cloud computing service models Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS).

· Candidate should be capable of:

o Actively participating in technical requirements-gathering process (i.e. meetings with customers). Consulting with customers about software system design and maintenance. Analyzing user needs and requirements to determine the feasibility of designs within time and cost constraints.

o Consulting with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software.

o Converting the technical requirements of a project into the architecture and design that will guide the final product. Developing enterprise architecture or system components required to meet user needs.

o Providing design, analysis, development, integration, documentation, testing, implementation, and user support.

o Developing and implementing cloud strategies. Providing Cloud and Cloud Security guidance to leadership.

o Analyzing security needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints and security mandates. Maintaining security requirements for the successful operation of systems.

o Analyzing the results of software, hardware, or interoperability testing.

o Designing countermeasures and mitigations against potential exploitations weaknesses and vulnerabilities in system and elements.

o Developing data management capabilities (e.g., cloud based, centralized cryptographic key management) to include support to the mobile workforce.

o Documenting and updating as necessary all definition and architecture activities.

o Preparing detailed workflow charts, models, and diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operation.

o Maintaining and improving existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize for cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc).

o Automating and optimizing service deployments.

o Executing design and implementation of application features, independently / unassisted, with minimal oversight.

o Developing applications backed by a relational database; understanding RDB design concepts.

Must be willing to work overtime, after hours, holidays, and weekends, as necessary. This position may require periods of non-traditional working hours, to include consecutive nights and/or weekends.

Preferred Skills:

· First-hand knowledge of the mission and operational requirements of the U.S. Army.

· A demonstrated understanding of U.S. Army IT operational and technical requirements, and an advanced understanding of U.S. Army IT applications and network systems.

· Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.

The likely salary range for this position is $184,049 - $249,007. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
