Job Description Insight Globals Seattle-based client has received federal funding to develop a highly secure, cloud-based collaboration platform for researchers. This is a greenfield opportunity essentially a startup scenario with guaranteed funding. We are recruiting team members for a Scrum team that will apply state-of-the-art technologies to build a system with broad visibility. As the Cloud Architect you will play a key role in establishing the platform infrastructure, ensuring it is highly secure, and collaborating with stakeholders and your team to build the system. This role will require both high-level design insights and hands-on implementation skills. Support the client in selection of the cloud platform (AWS or Microsoft Azure), in cooperation with Insight Global technical consultants Design and develop the core cloud infrastructure Optimize operational costs of the cloud implementation Collaborate with other consultants and SECURE stakeholders to ensure strong security of the platform and development processes Mentor other team members in effectively leveraging cloud-native services and capabilities Ensure compliance with federal security standards and regulations Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure design and implementation on Azure and/or AWS. If the 5+ years of experience is exclusively with either Azure or AWS, a minimum of 1+ years of hands-on experience with the other cloud service provider is required Significant experience in relevant coding & scripting languages: C#, Python, Bash, JavaScript Deep knowledge of cloud security tools, best practices, and compliance standards (IAM, encryption, security groups, etc.) Experience in cloud cost optimization Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Grafana, DataDog, etc. Working knowledge of cloud network and access components: firewall services, DDOS services, load balancing, etc. Working knowledge of setting up Minimum Security Baselines (MSBs) Certifications in Azure or AWS cloud technology Experience with DevOps continuous build & deploy process, including build automation (GitLab, Jenkins, Chef, etc.) and containerization (Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, OpenShfit) Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation Experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies.
