JOB SUMMARY
The Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and related technologies. This role also requires expertise in integrating and optimizing enterprise systems, such as SAP, within Azure environments. The Cloud Architect will focus on ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions that support critical business applications, enhance performance, and align with organizational goals. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key to achieving seamless integration and driving the success of cloud strategies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Solution Design and Architecture:
+ Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architecture solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure and related technologies.
+ Develop strategies for integrating enterprise applications, including SAP, with Azure services.
+ Design and implement SAP and other solutions within Azure, including high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
+ Create architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and documentation for cloud and SAP and other ERP integrations.
Integration and Optimization
+ Lead the migration and integration of systems like SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and other ERP platforms to the Azure environment.
+ Optimize enterprise applications for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency within the cloud environment.
+ Collaborate with SAP Basis teams to ensure seamless integration with Azure services.
+ Ensure seamless integration between cloud services and on-premises or hybrid systems.
Infrastructure and Operations
+ Design and deploy Azure infrastructure to support system workloads, including SAP-certified VMs, networking, and storage.
+ Implement and manage hybrid cloud solutions integrating on-premises SAP systems with Azure.
+ Establish operational best practices, including monitoring, automation, and disaster recovery strategies.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
+ Partner with IT, SAP Basis, and functional business teams to align cloud strategies with organizational objectives.
+ Act as a technical advisor, providing expertise in Microsoft cloud technologies and enterprise application integration.
Security and Compliance
+ Ensure solutions on Azure comply with organizational security policies and industry standards.
+ Implement Azure Active Directory integration with SAP systems for secure identity and access management.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
+ Remain current on advancements in Azure, SAP, and other enterprise technologies, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Mentor team members and promote knowledge sharing and upskilling in cloud and enterprise system domains.
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
+ Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure for SAP Workloads Specialty are highly desirable.
+ Extensive experience (4+ years) with Azure infrastructure, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure NetApp Files, Azure Load Balancer, Azure Storage (Blob, Files, and Managed Disks), and Azure Backup & Recovery solutions.
+ Experience deploying and managing SAP NetWeaver on Azure, including system provisioning, performance optimization, and integration with Azure services.
+ Experience in SAP migrations to Azure, utilizing tools like Azure Migrate, SAP DMO with System Move, and Azure Site Recovery.
+ Strong networking knowledge, including Azure VNETs, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Application Gateway, and DNS configurations for SAP.
+ Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform, ARM templates, and Bicep, for deploying Azure infrastructure for SAP workloads.
+ Experience in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and monitoring SAP systems on Azure.
+ Understanding of cloud security best practices, including Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), role-based access control (RBAC), managed identities, Key Vault, and Azure Security Center for SAP environments.
+ Strong skills in automation and scripting, using PowerShell, Python, or Bash to manage Azure infrastructure and SAP configurations.
Experience with Azure monitoring tools, such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Azure Sentinel, for tracking SAP system health and performance.
