GDIT is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer to secure our cloud infrastructure and applications for the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services (CITS) Program supporting the USCENTCOM J6 in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud security best practices and hands-on experience in designing and implementing security measures to protect cloud-based systems. This role will involve working closely with cloud engineers and developers to ensure that security is integrated into all phases of the cloud lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cloud Security Architecture: Design and implement security architectures for cloud environments across Azure Cloud Platform.
- Security Monitoring & Incident Response: Set up and manage security monitoring tools to detect and respond to security incidents in the cloud.
- Identity & Access Management: Implement and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and other access controls.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure that cloud environments comply with relevant security standards and regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or NIST.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans and implement necessary patches and updates.
- Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts for security tasks such as patch management, security audits, and compliance reporting.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cloud engineers, developers, and IT teams to integrate security practices into cloud infrastructure and applications.
- Security Awareness: Provide training and guidance to other teams on cloud security best practices and emerging threats.
Education and/or Certifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in communication or a related field of study
-4+ years of experience in cloud security, with hands-on experience in securing cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Desired:
- Master’s Degree with a focus in communication, computer science, engineering, or a related field of study
- Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or equivalent certification.
- Azure Certifications
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty or equivalent certification in Azure or Google Cloud
Required Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security frameworks and best practices specifically in DoD networks.
- Proficiency in security tools and technologies such as firewalls, SIEM, and IDS/IPS.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools for security tasks.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST).
- Ability to perform threat modeling, risk assessments, and vulnerability assessments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Strong Agile skills and management tooling exposure
- Ability to speak/report on cloud efforts publicly and speak extemporaneously
- Understand DevSecOps/DevOps processes and principles.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with USCENTCOM and familiarity with its mission

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
