Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on observability to support our SS&C Blue Prism (Chorus, Document Automation) products and their underlying infrastructure. This role requires a solid technical foundation in cloud technologies (AWS, SS&C Private Cloud), a passion for problem-solving, and a demonstrated expertise in monitoring and observability tools like New Relic, Grafana, and CloudWatch. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying and resolving performance issues, ensuring the optimal operation and availability of our cloud-based systems.
Responsibilities:
Cloud Infrastructure Support:
Provide day-to-day operational support for SS&C Blue Prism products running on AWS and the SS&C Private Cloud, with a focus on performance and reliability.Monitor cloud infrastructure health, performance, and security, utilizing tools like New Relic, Grafana, and CloudWatch to proactively identify and resolve issues.Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, incorporating observability best practices.Troubleshoot cloud-related issues, working closely with the team lead and other engineers to analyze metrics, logs, and traces to diagnose and resolve problems.Observability and Monitoring:
Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions using New Relic, Grafana, and CloudWatch.Configure alerts and dashboards to provide real-time visibility into system health, performance, and resource utilization.Analyze metrics, logs, and traces to identify performance bottlenecks, anomalies, and potential issues.Collaborate with development teams to instrument applications and infrastructure for improved observability.Proactively optimize system performance and resource utilization based on insights gained from monitoring data.System Monitoring and Optimization:
Proactively monitor system logs and alerts, leveraging observability tools to identify potential issues before they impact users.Analyze system performance data, identifying areas for optimization and improvement, utilizing insights from New Relic, Grafana, and CloudWatch.Implement performance tuning and optimization strategies to maximize system efficiency, while ensuring that observability is not compromised.Participate in capacity planning and forecasting, leveraging observability data to ensure adequate resources to meet future demands.Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
Work closely with the team lead and other engineers to deliver high-quality, performant, and reliable solutions.Contribute to the development and maintenance of system documentation, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting guides, incorporating observability best practices.Participate in on-call rotation, providing 24/7 support during nights and weekends as needed, responding promptly to performance alerts and incidents.Share knowledge and expertise with other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement in cloud observability and monitoring.Qualifications:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 2+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role, with hands-on experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms. - Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts (networking, security, storage, compute). - Experience with Observability tools such as New Relic, CloudWatch, Graphana, Splunk - Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) or similar technologies. - Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal (English proficiency). - Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to provide timely support.
Desired:
Experience with SS&C Blue Prism products or similar automation platforms.Certifications in AWS, Azure, or other relevant cloud technologies.Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation tasks.#LI-NW1
