Cloud Engineer
Overview This is a hybrid role based out of Malvern, PA (3 days in office) CubeSmart is hiring a Cloud Engineer to join our Information Technology department at our Malvern, PA headquarters. This engineer should have strong technical expertise in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud platforms, along with excellent collaboration and communication skills. The candidate should have hands-on experience with configuration management tools and a working knowledge of internal backend systems. Responsibilities Under the direction of the Cloud Infrastructure Manager, this role will be responsible for the technical delivery and support of the operating environments, including the design, build, monitoring, and securing while providing optimal infrastructure performance. Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault-finding Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning Work with the Cloud Infrastructure Manager to author clear and specific requirements, detailed design and conduct code reviews Participate in sprint planning meetings to ensure that objectives are meeting communicated deadlines Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence with a focus on performance, scalability, and security Collaborate with various geographically dispersed development teams Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of professional experience engineering enterprise grade infrastructure with functional experience in the Linux Operating Systems (Ubuntu preferred) Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting production AWS Cloud workloads and associated services (e.g. RDS/Opensearch/Elasticache/IAM/Cloudwatch/Lambda) Functional experience with IaC principles and tooling (e.g., Terraform/Ansible/Packer) Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python and Bash) Functional experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins/Gitlab/Github CI) Working knowledge of advanced Monitoring systems including Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools (Datadog preferred) Working knowledge of Load Balancers including Nginx/HAProxy and AWS ALB/NLB Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes) Hands-on experience with designing, building, and supporting microservices infrastructures (e.g., K8S/EKS/ECS) Experience in working in an Agile environment. A product mentality - the ability to define goals, consider trade-offs, prioritize, defend decisions, and execute. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study preferred or equivalent professional experience. AWS Solution Architect, Associate, or relevant professional certification preferred. Ability to work well with development teams, management, and project stakeholders towards a common goal. Good written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
