Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Cloud Engineer in Hanover, Maryland. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and migrating to cloud environments, working with various clients and service providers. You will also ensure standardization of systems implementation and support techniques. Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and migrate to various cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, and IBM. • Collaborate with enterprise security and infrastructure teams to determine integration design patterns. • Uphold formal processes, best practices, and total quality practices in all activities. • Generate reports and documentation to facilitate understanding of the overall system and identify potential risks and problems. • Administer support for API management solutions. • Participate in the cloud governance workgroup to develop and maintain standards for toolsets within Azure, AWS, or other relevant cloud environments. • Develop and implement service management, change processes, monitoring and cost management best practices that optimize existing infrastructure and eliminate redundant applications and tools. • Ensure compatibility between customer needs, product strategy objectives, user requirements, and the technical environment. • Work with Platform and Product teams to build secure solutions leveraging modern software and infrastructure practices. • Drive innovation by automating infrastructure. Requirements • Proficiency in cloud technologies such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and IBM • Experience with cost optimization and reporting in a cloud environment • Ability to document technical specifications and design concepts • Understanding of security practices and governance in the cloud • Experience with automation and deploying applications in the cloud • Knowledge in engineering practices and quality assurance • Familiarity with monitoring tools and best practices for cloud monitoring • Experience with migration of resources and services to the cloud • Proficiency in R code and laptop hardware is a plus • Ability to innovate and bring new ideas to the table • Experience with human resources (HR) administration is a bonus • Understanding of cloud best practices and guidelines.
