We’ve got what you’re looking for. **Job Description:** Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Cloud Engineer to join our team! In this role you will focus on the implementation, deployment, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and implement the designs provided by the Cloud Architect and ensures the cloud environment is optimized for performance, cost, and security. **What You'll Be Doing:** Cloud Infrastructure Management: + Deploy, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure components such as virtual machines, storage, networks, and databases. + Ensure the cloud environment is optimized for performance, cost, and security. Automation and Scripting: + Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline the provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources. + Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate cloud infrastructure deployment and management. Monitoring and Maintenance: + Implement monitoring solutions to track the performance, availability, and health of cloud-based applications and services. + Perform regular maintenance tasks, including patch management, backups, and system updates. Security and Compliance: + Implement security best practices to protect cloud infrastructure and data, including encryption, access controls, and network security measures. + Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations. + Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks. Troubleshooting and Support: + Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and services. + Provide support to development teams and other stakeholders for cloud-related issues. + Perform root cause analysis for incidents and implement preventive measures. Cost Management and Optimization: + Monitor cloud usage and costs to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to budget constraints. + Implement cost optimization strategies, such as rightsizing resources, using reserved instances, and leveraging cost management tools. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: + Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud-based applications and services. + Ensure cloud architectures support failover, redundancy, and data protection. Documentation and Reporting: + Maintain detailed documentation of cloud infrastructure configurations, changes, and procedures. + Generate reports on cloud performance, security, and usage. **What Required Skills You'll Bring:** + Must have a current/active Secret or above clearance. + Levels and Degrees with experience. + **Junior** – BS and 2-4 years of experience + **Mid-Level** – BS and 5-9 years of experience + **Sr. Level** -BS and 10+ years of experience **What Desired Skills You'll Bring:** + Currently have a Security+ certification + Extensive knowledge and experience in designing, deploying, and managing complex enterprise-level cloud infrastructure environments. + Adherence to strict security compliance regulations, best practices, standards, and frameworks such as NIST 800-53 RMF and FedRAMP. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. + Experience with cloud-native deployment techniques such as DevOps and/or DevSecOps. + Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects. + Familiarity with automation of configuration management and modernization of network and systems administration functions. + Capability to integrate solutions with existing IT service management tools. + Expertise in developing disaster recovery CONOPs and performing disaster recovery testing. + Knowledge of cloud technologies and the ability to evaluate and enhance cloud-based services. **Minimum Clearance Required to Start:** Secret This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.
