Y CPF Level: P1 Location: San Antonio Dept.: Information Systems Business Unit: BioBridge Global **General Summary** Responsible for the implementation, maintenance and support of BioBridge Global and its subsidiaries’ systems consisting of cloud infrastructure, physical servers, backup systems, virtual systems, active directory, and others. This role includes, engineering, monitoring, maintaining and improving system performance and capacity, and planning for future expansion requirements. The Cloud Engineer designs, implements, troubleshoots, analyzes and maintains the IT Infrastructure of internal and external customer environments; including cloud infrastructure, Windows server administration, virtualization, performance tuning, backup and restore. The Cloud Engineer identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. The Cloud Engineer will act in conjunction with other ITS team members to design and maintain the systems architecture. Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes. It is essential that the incumbent have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards. **Major Duties and Responsibilities** Essential Tasks This role includes, monitoring, maintaining and improving system performance, capacity, and planning for future expansion/reduction requirements and research possible budgetary planning needs. The Cloud Engineer works closely with the Information Technology team(s) and liaise with vendors as well as offers first point of escalation for System Engineers. Perform capacity and resource planning, assess risks with recommendations, design and implement Infrastructure System environments. Plan and execute Infrastructure upgrades and migration projects with existing hardware and/or software. Proactively anticipate, prevent and eliminate data center problems and risks by identifying and creating efficient fixes for any security risks, patches/vulnerabilities, etc. Provide Infrastructure services in all areas needed: Storage Systems, storage networking, backup and restore systems, operating systems, system security, directory services, server virtualization, system and network monitoring, application installation and configuration, system or application deployment techniques. Standard system administration duties including physical and virtual server install, System/Application install and patch management, Windows problem determination and resolution, log analysis, etc. Participate in after‐hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on‐call availability as needed. Work closely with a collaborative team, other IT staff, including networking, security, and data center operation teams or vendors to facilitate effective issue resolution. Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, reports, and other documentation in support of design and development activities. Perform root cause analysis on complex issues in client environments to identify root causes and identify resolution plans. Review system implementation and performance as to implement system enhancements if needed. Develop standardized deployment documentation where necessary to document build standards. Must be able to mentor and teach other members of ITS as necessary. Participate in user support as needed Performs other duties as assigned. Non-Essential Tasks Perform and assume duties and responsibilities of others as assigned by departmental management. **Education** Requires an Associate Degree from an accredited college or university in a specialized area. Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. The preferred major is CIS. Licenses and/or Certifications Valid United States Driver’s License AWS cloud, google cloud, or Azure certifications - required Microsoft Certification – required VMWare or Nutanix certification preferred **Experience** Requires seven or more years of IT experience. Requires five or more years of active directory administration with a minimum of one year of experience with Azure AD (Entra). Requires three years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure using industry-standard best practices. Intermediate-level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in Cloud infrastructure. Experience with migrating on premise compute to cloud infrastructure. Ability to configure, install, and maintain hardware and software for physical and virtualized environments (VMware or Nutanix), Windows 10 desktops/laptops, and peripherals. Experience with building High availability environments using on premise and cloud infrastructure. In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role. **Knowledge** Must maintain knowledge of and perform according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies. Knowledge of server hardware such as server chassis, storage arrays, and backup systems. Extensive Linux operating systems, Clustering technologies, Active Directory design, SAN design, high availability systems, SCCM/MECM, System Monitoring applications and PowerShell scripting. Must have extensive knowledge of securing cloud and on-premises systems/technologies using SAML and multifactor authentication and applying CIS/NIST security standards. Knowledge of MS 365, internet browsers, LAN/WAN networking, enterprise WiFi, VMWare, storage technologies. Knowledge of Google, Azure or AWS compute, data sources, security technologies, and cloud infrastructure. Must maintain knowledge of and perform according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies. **Skills** Must have strong documentation skills. Must have excellent project management skills. Must be capable of operating motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must possess strong organizational, customer service, and troubleshooting skills. **Abilities** Must be able to keep information confidential. Must be neat in appearance and well groomed. Must be professional, detail oriented, self-motivated, innovative, creative, assertive, organized, communicative, and have the ability to work independently. **Working Environment** Works in a well-lighted, air conditioned and heated office. May be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to an office environment. May be required to work at any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend. Ability to use personal motor vehicle for company business required. Occupational Exposure Assignment - Category II Physical Requirements Must be able to drive on behalf of the organization. Will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours. Requires ability to reach, lift and carry up to 20 lbs. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
