MAG Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer (DevOps) to join our growing organization in Ft. Liberty, NC (formerly Ft. Bragg).

 

This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. You will work with a team of diverse architects and engineers with backgrounds in PaaS, DevOps, Security, and IaaS operations in order to spread knowledge and practices all in support of the Government Program Office’s global cloud and platform services environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

Responsible for distributed and managed services, automating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform servicesManage system tuning for reliability and efficiency and guide and manage software releases for new features and support users through consolidationPerform the administrative operation of server hardware and softwareEnsure system security and execute practices and proceduresTroubleshoot system related problemsRemain current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applicationsRecommend future direction or projects to managementProvide expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system Requirements

Minimum Requirements

 

Knowledge and Skills

 

Minimum of 5-years relevant experience Working knowledge of agile development processIn depth understanding of Dev Ops methodologies Relevant experience in VMware vSphere / ESXi / NSX-TRelevant experience with Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity or other Continuous Integration toolsRelevant experience with networking and related technologies (e.g. load balancing / DNS / SSL / firewalls / NAT / SDN)Relevant experience in using GitRelevant experience in release managementRelevant experience supporting production systems using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practicesGood written and technical briefing skills – can effectively communicate with teammates and leadershipDetail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of workProvides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience

 

Education

A degree in STEM related field of studyDoD 8570 IAT Level II required 

 

Other Qualifications

US Citizenship DoD TS/SCI Eligible

DOD 8570 IAT Level III Experience in Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and OpenStackExperience with Kubernetes, Chef, Ansible, BOSH, or related automation / orchestration toolsExperience with a platform as a service product such as Cloud Foundry, Heroku, Elastic Beanstalk, or similarExperience working with DNS, NTP, SAML, OAuth 2, Active DirectoryUnderstanding of systems monitoring, alerting and analytics (Prometheus, New Relic, AppDynamics, Cacti, Graphite, ELK, Nagios, Ganglia, Splunk, Log Insight, vRealize Operations, Datadog, etc.)Background in Windows deployment, automation, and related technologiesExperience with database (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL) and messaging middleware technologies (e.g. RabbitMQ) Special Note

The projected compensation range for this position is $80500 to $149500 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
