Application deadline: 7/1/2024 JOB DESCRIPTION Vertafore is seeking a talented, energetic, and self-driven individual to join our Cloud Operations team. As a Cloud Engineer I you will provide ongoing support to our AWS and hybrid cloud environment. This role is highly collaborative - you will work with other parts of the organization to achieve business outcomes and help provide the best outcomes for Vertafore and our customers. You will support solutions using cutting edge technologies and industry best practices for cloud platforms and services. You will promote the use of automation to solve technical challenges and strive to create reliable and cost-effective solutions. Core Requirements and Responsibilities:   Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following: ·       Actively work with a critical organizational team ·       Support, update and maintain AWS services while applying best practices for infrastructure security ·       Collaborate with members of other Vertafore teams to produce best results ·       Support configuration and maintenance of  VPN connections between AWS accounts and on-premise data centers ·       Investigation of and remediation of cloud security findings ·       Monitor, update and patch hybrid cloud instances and services ·       Investigate and resolve different challenges in our AWS environment ·       Follow sound business ethics when executing job responsibilities ·       Participate in escalations for AWS, networking, Windows and Linux incidents   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  ·       Experience performing support and administrative tasks within Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, OpenStack, or other cloud infrastructure technologies ·       Familiar with scripting (Python and Powershell are our most used languages) ·       Experience with the management and configuration of Windows and/or Linux operating systems  ·       The ability to work independently, as part of a team, or in coordination with multiple teams working towards simultaneous parallel or independent objectives ·       Exposure to supporting databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) ·       Familiarity with infrastructure as code platforms, particularly Terraform ·       Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation ·       Experience with cloud backup and disaster recovery models and configuration ·       Understanding of basic cloud security and cloud security best practices ·       Networking fundamentals and troubleshooting skills
