AB Cloud Engineering Role
Describe the role:
The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for deploying, modifying, and maintaining AB’s cloud infrastructure and containerized application environments.

The role supports AB’s internal clients who wish to run their applications in the cloud.
The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide engineering and operational support for applications running in the cloud. Help clients design, deploy, and manage their cloud infrastructure. The role requires collaboration with application support, infrastructure, ID management, networks, cyber security, web services, and IT risk Mgmt. teams. As part of the design process you will design, implement, validate, and document the operational aspects of the application infrastructure. Provide technical leadership in a hybrid cloud team, provide project planning, delegation, and cross-functional project co-ordination with internal teams in the firm
• Contribute materially to a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the cloud adoption model • Identify cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the firm • Offer guidance and design in application migration techniques from on-premises to cloud • Regularly evaluate cloud applications and services. Collaborate to implement POC with new cloud services and then move to development, production with appropriate security design. • Collaborate with risk management and compliance teams to plan and implement the company's cloud security and compliance policies and procedures • Work cross-functionally to create and document requirements, develop, and deliver solutions • Provide systems expertise across the organization for addressing engineering and operational issues o Identify deficiencies in current system designs and recommend solutions o Identify system scaling limitations and recommend and implement improvements o Manage changes for existing cloud services o Implement vigilance and rigor in securing cloud resources

This is an engineering role requiring collaboration with many teams across the enterprise to meet application requirements. As AB transitions more applications to cloud-native technologies, the candidate will need to be innovative and think out of the box to create solutions while maintaining the security and integrity of AB’s environment.

The role will offer many opportunities to learn and use new cloud-native technologies. Team member will collaborate with business teams and other members of Global Enterprise Technology Services, to drive change required by the cloud-native innovations while gaining experience and skills required to manage public cloud for large enterprise.
Job Qualifications (The ideal candidate should have the following):
Qualifications, Experience, Education:
• Bachelor's degree in related field (Computer Science, Information Systems) or 4 years of equivalent experience in cloud-native technologies. • The candidate should have a solid understanding of DevOps, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS service architecture and related security concepts. • The candidate should have experience with cloud infrastructure on two or more cloud providers. • The ideal candidate will have scripting / programming skills in several different operating system environments (Linux and Windows). Terraform, YAML and JASON experience required for this role.
