Cloud Infrastructure Manager

The Cloud Infrastructure Manager is a working technical manager covering multiple technologies that reside in clouds and on-premise data centers. This role will manage internal associates and a team of contractors providing outsourced infrastructure services. This position will also learn and apply development methodologies to automate and codify infrastructure, increasing the agility with which infrastructure can be deployed and maintained.

Responsibilities

Provide direction, approvals, and feedback on quality of work to BBW’s outsourced partner team. The outsourcer’s scope is standard day to day maintenance and break fix activities for both 3rd party cloud hosting and on-premise hosting infrastructure and databases. Manage the assignment of work to internal associates to meet the priorities of the business and identify if and when additional contract staff may be required. Guide the development of internal associates through formal performance reviews, informal feedback discussions with the team and recommending relevant skills and training to the team. Collaborate with our other IT application teams, information security teams, and infrastructure teams to plan and execute the build of hosting solutions for new system implementations. Serve as an escalation point for issue resolution or architectural decisions for new system implementations. Collaborate with the team to build a roadmap for the team and the technologies the team owns. Manage Azure resources and charges to validate what is consumed for billing and to make recommendations to reduce cost. Provide direction to Finance on changes to team budget for the provided services. Use ITIL processes (especially problem), past experience, and ongoing learning to continuously improve our infrastructure.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience leading a team 3+ years using Cloud technologies 3+ years of proven experience with on premise hypervisors and related hardware 1-3 years experience with both Oracle/MS SQL and or open-source databases Understanding of financial aspects of enterprise technology management desirable Exhibited success in team and associate career and performance management
