Cloud Migration Specialist

Systems Intelligence is excited to provide IT services to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in support of Cloud programs. We are in search of an experienced Cloud Migration Specialist to support this exciting program/customer.

Responsibilities

Developing comprehensive migration strategies for transitioning applications, servers, and other infrastructure components to cloud environments, emphasizing efficiency, scalability, and alignment with DevOps principles.

Creating detailed migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies, to ensure smooth transitions.

Designing and implementing metrics, benchmarks, and acceptance criteria to evaluate the success of migration efforts and verify system performance post-migration.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess current systems, identify dependencies, and resolve compatibility issues prior to migration.

Managing and executing migration processes, including data transfer, application reconfiguration, and post-migration validation.

Monitoring migration activities to ensure adherence to best practices, minimize downtime, and address challenges as they arise.

Documenting processes, outcomes, and lessons learned to inform future migration efforts.

Staying current with evolving cloud technologies and recommending enhancements or adjustments to migration methodologies.

Qualifications

Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in cloud migration, infrastructure management, or DevOps.

Familiarity with leading cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and their associated services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).

Strong understanding of system integration, data migration, and application modernization in cloud environments.

Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices such as CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues during migration processes.

Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or similar) are preferred but not required.
