Jones Lang LaSalle, an international commercial real estate firm, is seeking a skilled and motivated cloud network engineer with expertise in both traditional networking and cloud networking technologies to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of network architecture and implementations to our clients, ensuring exceptional quality and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and operation of firewall and network engineering and support, ensuring exceptional quality and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in firewall design, cloud network, cloud and firewall troubleshooting, implementation, and support, as well as experience managing on-prem and cloud-based network solutions.   


Responsibilities


Implementation, Upgrades, Support & Troubleshooting

Hands on experience with Cloud networking, Palo Alto firewalls in Azure & AWS cloud.Extensive experience implementing and maintaining firewalls and staying updated on any released security vulnerabilities and how they affect the network.Extensive experience performing on-going optimization of the network security devices to ensure adequate capacity, availability, and scalability.Experience implementing, troubleshooting, and documenting network security infrastructures and related systems.Expertise in modifying firewall rule sets, changing policies, whitelisting, content filtering, and troubleshooting issues by studying network traffic flows, locking down applications, and troubleshooting firewalls, routers, and switches.In-depth knowledge of layer 4-7 app aware firewalls.Experience establishing and modifying site-to-site VPNs.Ability to manage threat protection, URL blocking, IOC feeds, routers, and switches.Experience performing monthly firewall health checks.Periodically monitor firewall health, performance, and capacity.Experience in the Change Management process including creating new change requests, reviewing submitted change forms, peer reviewing submitted change requests, implementing firewall changes and peer reviewing firewall changes.Experience developing detailed build and test plans for implementing firewalls.Coordinate with IT teams to ensure standardized network configurations and practices.Proactively recommend and implement enhancements to improve network reliability, security, and performance.Collaborate with global IT teams to swiftly address and resolve network issues.Work closely with other IT teams, such as security, data centers, and application teams, to ensure network compatibility and optimization.Define common, reusable solutions for branch, data center and cloud firewall networking.Document firewall deployment, upgrades, and configuration standardsExperience with network automation tools such as Ansible, scripting using Terraform, PythonWireless network design, support and troubleshooting.Understanding of TCP/IP Stack, AD, DNS, DHCP, Routing including BGP, OSPF, VXLANParticipate in disaster recovery development, exercises, and actual events.Resolve escalations for unique and complex technical problems that operational teams are unable to solve.Participate in incident management and problem resolution for network systems.Design and implement cloud network architectures using industry best practices.Deploy, configure, and manage networking services in the cloud, such as Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Subnets, Gateways, Load Balancers, DNS, VPN, and Direct Connect.Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, including connectivity, performance, and security problems.Monitor and analyze network traffic to identify and address bottlenecks, potential vulnerabilities, and performance improvements.Collaborate with DevOps and security teams to ensure network operations align with compliance requirements and security standards.Provide network support to development teams during application deployments and migrations.Plan and execute network capacity and scalability strategies to accommodate future growth and expansion.Document network configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and standardization.Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in cloud networking.


Experience & Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in network architecture or design, with a specific focus on global infrastructures.Strong understanding of Firewalls, WAN technologies, SD-WAN, network protocols, IP subnetting, VPNs, QoS, and other advanced networking concepts.Experience with cloud network architecture, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Expertise in network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers from vendors like Cisco, Palo Alto and others.Experience in networking field at a large enterprise scale including WAN, LAN, data center and cloud environments.Ability to participate in on-call rotation for 24x7 support.Knowledge of network security best practices and integration.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work collaboratively in a global team environment.8+ years of technical hands-on networking support.


Technical Skills & Competencies

Hands on experience with the Palo Alto firewall management.Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco firewallsCloud networking experience with AWS, AzureCapable of breaking down and resolving customer or network related issuesWAN technology experience to manage and evolve company Internet, Cloud, and company connectivity services.Strong understanding of infrastructure, firewall and networking.Strong troubleshooting skills for Palo alto firewalls.Strong experience in implementing global network implementation.Experience in successfully deploying firewalls in a cloud environment.Experience in successfully deploying firewalls in traditional data center and edge.Experience in ITIL disciplines.Experience and ability to manage conflicts.Strong technical network ability in a diverse and large-scale enterprise environment.Strong decision making and operational skill.Proven track record of global network designs and implementationsHave excellent problem-solving skills utilizing both internal and external resources to get the job done.  Work through issues and challenges.Self-starter and motivator and ability to work in team and solo

Estimated total compensation for this position:

150,000.00 – 180,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
