Cloud Platform Architect
Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Cloud Platform Architect. The expected annual salary range for this role is $120075.03 - $176110.04 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. **What you’ll do:** Join Eaton’s Information Technology IT team and help positively impact our business through leading technologies, exciting and challenging enterprise projects, and new platforms! In this function you will: • Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to design, build and support Internet-of-Things (IoT) or business critical enterprise environments. • Collaborate with IT and Operations functions to build and implement the foundation of our Digital Factory strategy leveraging Industry 4.0 technologies. • Be a Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the strategic focus areas of Security, Identity, Infrastructure or Cloud computing and have the ability to speak across the remaining areas. • Consistently evaluate Cloud, IoT and Industry 4.0 technologies to shape design of services in consideration of cost, portability, compatibility, or usability factors. • Consistently evaluate our cloud security posture against both threats and in compliance of applicable regulation. You will drive not only the remediation of outstanding issues but also provide strategy and vision towards the overall security posture of our cloud environments. • Leverage and influence technical strategy and direction for enterprise platforms with supporting CoEs. • Champion industry best practices across the globe through industry interaction and change management. • Act as a mentor and provide guiding influence on others. • Manage projects up to an enterprise level deployment. • Set the project implementation approach for customer and external supplier activities and deliverables. • Drive decisions and deliverables across teams. **Qualifications:** **Required (Basic) Qualifications:** • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution • Minimum seven (7) years experience of IT experience • Minimum of 5 years experience in Azure, AWS, or Oracle Cloud • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of one of the locations listed on the job description • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee **Preferred Qualifications:** • Strong knowledge of a scripting language for Automation and service development. • Working knowledge of DevOps and associated technologies (GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc..) **Skills:** **Position Criteria:** + Demonstrated strength in key cloud technology areas such as Infrastructure Platform, Cyber Security, DevOps, and Data Management as they pertain to the development of complex cloud, hybrid or multi-cloud architectures. + Demonstrated ability to “think like a developer” and architect solutions with reliability, security, automation, and ease of use as the North Star. + One or more advanced certifications in Azure (preferred), AWS, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. + Ability to work across the business, or technology functions to not only architect the appropriate solution, but to be able to communicate the solution and rationale to all levels of the organization. + Problems are not well defined and sufficient information may not be available. Requires conceptual thinking to understand complex issues and their implications. Implementation of solutions often requires a longer-term view, consideration of multiple perspectives, and understanding of future impact.
