Essential Responsibilities:-
We are looking for a Cloud Platform Consultant to join our team in Norfolk, CT.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
• Responsible for delivering all cloud management functions including environment provisioning, configuration, and deployment, performance monitoring (response times, latency, uptime, etc.), and security, using the Red Hat Product Portfolio.
• Responsible for emplacing infrastructure compliance auditing and management, and overseeing disaster recovery execution strategy and contingency plans.
• Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of virtualization technology solutions.
• Develop maintainable enterprise virtualization environments (KVM), including optimization, troubleshooting, capacity and continuity planning.
• Develop scripts/tools to ensure a streamlined/automated application deployment.
• Creation of end-to-end cloud hardware deployments - work queues, worker machines, databases and monitoring solutions.
• Employ backup and recovery best practices to ensure critical systems are protected from data loss.
• Develop automation, mature processes, and design tools to implement and improve cloud lifecycle; including infrastructure & application uptime, availability, and performance monitoring.
• Interact with hardware/software vendors to ensure timely resolution to issues or outages and license management.
• Develop assurance that servers and storage meet proper performance and capacity standards.
• Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and development of the relevant IT systems.
• Become a respected subject matter expert at the client site, addressing their technical, developmental, and strategic IT requirements.
• Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification, and design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions.
• Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions in a professional manner.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of industry practices and Red Hat's policies and procedures.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related technical discipline and a minimum of 5 years’ experience, or Associates degree with minimum 8 years’ experience, or High School diploma with minimum 10 years’ experience as a Systems Administrator or Sr. Systems Engineer.
• Experience in the design and operation of medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure, databases, and application systems with high availability requirements.
• Experience with Server architecture design.
• Experience with Network architecture design.
• Experience with cloud technologies and providers, e.g. OpenStack, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Windows Azure.
• Experience in cloud-based deployments.
• Competence in a range of IT skills including networking, server management, back-up/recovery, database management, scripting
• VMware vSphere 4.x-5.x implementation/design/support
• Windows Server 2003/2008 deploying/maintenance/support
• SQL Server 2005/2008R2 deploying/support.
• Web Server Administration and Support (IIS/Apache).
• Knowledge in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Perl & VBScript.
• Extensive experience with Linux administration and bash scripting.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to relocate near Norfolk, CT. Can discuss travel options on a M-F basis.
