HSB Solomon Associates LLC (Solomon), a subsidiary of Hartford Steam Boiler and MunichRe, is seeking candidates for a Cloud Systems Administrator position to work in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment. Basic Function
The Cloud Systems Administrator Associate is responsible for maintenance and daily support of Microsoft® Servers (hosted in AWS), Active Directory, Group Policies, Security Groups, Office 365® applications (Azure) and User Desktop & Laptop level II support. This role is responsible for administering existing systems and coordinating with all areas of the organization to see that the AWS cloud systems, Microsoft M365 tenant, and associated network are working optimally and securely.
Responsibilities
**Microsoft Systems**
+ Daily/monthly maintenance, support, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Servers running in AWS, including M365 tenant administration and troubleshooting, and Azure AD management, including Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
**AWS Systems**
+ Daily/monthly maintenance, support, and troubleshooting of AWS systems (e.g., EC2, RDS, VPC management as base services)
**Help Desk Escalation**
+ Act as escalation point for desktop services team to help troubleshoot and resolve laptop and network issues.
**Strategy & Design**
+ Work with the SME for infrastructure teams in the planning, design, delivery, and support of IT solutions and give input to long-term strategy and implemented technical solutions.
+ Participate in proof-of-concept projects to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.
**Control Processes**
+ Expand current oversight control processes and automate, where applicable, to ensure the architectural health of the installed technical infrastructure
+ Ensure technology is aligned with the needs of the business, corporate technology, and budget objectives and document such processes.
Education
Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field from an accredited university or college, and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience or equivalent
Work Experience
Required:
+ Relevant Cloud (AWS & Azure) and Microsoft certifications are highly desired
+ 3+ years server experience in a production IT environment managing enterprise IT infrastructure, including Cloud services
+ Knowledge of current and emerging technology trends
Preferred:
+ 5+ years server experience in a production IT environment managing enterprise IT infrastructure, including Cloud services
KNOWLEDGE & Skills
Required:
+ Must have a thorough knowledge of the Windows® concepts, Domains, Active Directory (including Azure AD) and underlining concepts, and the interaction between hardware, operating systems, network, Cloud, and application software. Any Linux knowledge is a plus.
+ Basic understanding and ability to troubleshoot networking concepts such as TCP/IP and other network protocols, DNS, DHCP, and routing tables (internal, external, and DMZ)
+ Ability to develop enterprise standards to ensure compatibility and integration of multi-vendor platforms, cloud, and SaaS
+ Expertise with setup, configuration, and support of Microsoft Office 365 and Active Directory/Azure Active Directory (AD/AAD)
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL database concepts and connectivity
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to plan ahead
+ Ability to work across multiple organizations and with multiple IT leaders to present actionable overall infrastructure strategy; this includes working with IT operations, ISO, Software Development Manager, Server/Network Support Engineers, Digital Strategy and Development Team, etc.
+ Takes consistent action to develop new skills and finds ways to apply strengths to new issues
+ Effectively and efficiently navigate workflows and processes to accomplish work and the ability to identify and recommend improvements
+ Ability to self-manage, set schedules, and prioritize work appropriately
+ Meticulous attention to detail, looking for anomalies in results, reviewing work for quality, with a commitment to delivering accurate and high-quality work within specified deadlines
+ General understanding of accounting and business data tracking
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to include verbal, written, public speaking, listening, and presentation skills
+ Excellent people skills with the ability to successfully collaborate in a global, multi-disciplinary, diverse, matrixed, and dynamic team environment
+ Delivery of high-quality work product using Solomon documentation standards as appropriate
+ Effectively and efficiently navigate workflows and processes to accomplish work and recommended improvements
+ Strong, independent work ethic while also making a positive contribution to an existing, highly collaborative work environment.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office® products such as Word, Outlook®, and PowerPoint®
+ Proven track record of continuous improvement and creating new and better ways for the organization to be successful
