Club eSports Coach

Job Summary

Drexel Club Sports is seeking an eSports Coach to teach, coach, train and motivate student athletes on an individual and group basis. This position will work on-campus on an hourly basis. The Coach will help develop and support the Club eSports program and work with students of different levels of expertise.

Essential Functions

Organize, train and coach players to perform at the highest level. Prepare for both games and practice times through group training sessions. Enhance team performance through adequate team management and coaching practices. Communicate effectively with the team, building an effective coach-player relationship. Create starting lineups and prepare substitutions for games. Lead practices to help players improve their performance. Develop an on-field strategy for more success in games and practices. Plan training sessions for an enhanced performance level. Work with student-athletes to understand needs for athletic training, or other health problems. Foster an environment within the Club Sport program which supports the Department mission of personal growth and integrity, diversity, leadership, sportsmanship, and a commitment to athletic and academic excellence. Ensure that the program complies with all Drexel University, Club Sport, Governing Body and Recreational Athletics rules and regulations. Foster an inclusive environment where all players and athletes feel welcomed regardless of background or skill level. Educate student athletes throughout the program to enhance skills. Retain and graduate student athletes through the program. Communicate effectively with all constituents of the program including staff, faculty, and students. Create a foundation for inclusion within student athletes and create a strong foundation. Work effectively with admin, staff, and other coaches who are within the Club Sports Program to operate the program in an effective manner. Work with Athletic trainers to develop a safe environment as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED degree. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree High School, Club, or Collegiate coaching experience

Additional Information

This is a Part-time Per Diem position classified as Non-exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
