JOB SUMMARY
The primary role of Unit Partner is engaging members in all aspects of the unit and coordinating unit projects and activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.Consistently engages and involves members in all aspects of the unit, including activity and work planning and encourages members to assume leadership roles within the unit.Provides wide range of work opportunities to unit members and works side by side with members as colleagues.Maintains an organized work unit space and ensures that unit meetings happen on a regular basis.Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment using universal precautions. Maintains inventory of necessary supplies.Assists members with all community living issues, such as negotiating with roommates, neighbors, landlords, housing authorities, legal system, life skills, banking and/or medication management.Demonstrates an adherence to the Clubhouse philosophy/model in their daily conduct.Maintain confidentiality of client’s care.Participate in scheduled program meetings.Other relevant duties as assigned.Assist members in developing and utilizing Units to carry out the work-ordered-day, ensuring Unit Meetings occur on a regular basis. Units should be created based on Clubhouse Community needs and member participation, each unit should offer a variety of meaningful volunteer opportunities, develop, and maintain tracking systems, plan and execute projects, activities, and special events. Ensure program safety through unit work such as regular drills, trainings, addressing hazards, and completing work orders as needed.Assist members in developing and maintaining an up-to-date community support resource library through identifying affordable housing leads, health care and medical insurance options, local mental health and primary care providers, food resources, and any other resources based on member needs/goals.Support members in reaching out and scheduling presentations at the Clubhouse by partner agencies and local resources.Educate members on relevant social services and government funded assistance programs.Assist members in developing and reaching personal goals including returning to school, accessing financial aid, completing GED or other vocational training and provide support by developing positive working relationships.Provide feedback to members with positive reinforcement and assisting in developing the Clubhouse Advisory Board.Assist in Transitional Employment (TE) job placement efforts by assessing member inerests, educating, and exposing members to a variety of work opportunities through TE placements regardless of previous work experience or level of functioning, provide training and coverage at placement as needed and ongoing support.Maintain open and positive relationships with other service providers, community agencies, and local businesses to create opportunities for Transitional Employment.Assist members in identifying and networking with potential partners for employment opportunities.Track TE placements and maintain communication with TE employers including responding to feedback.Lead meetings as outlines in the Statement of Work e.g., WRAP, WHAM, Recovery Planning, Employment Support, etc.Complete training of International Clubhouse Standards (ICCD) and Support Employment (IPS), Whole Health Action Management (WHAM), and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)May be required to attend initial and on-going training for County of San Diego, Department of Behavioral Health Services SSI Advocacy and Training Contracts program and possibly process SSA applications through Legal Aid.Comply with all MHS and program rules, policies and procedures including HIPPA standards.Must be willing to work some holidays.QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance per contract requirements.
• Cultural Competency understanding required.
• Bilingual preferred.
