Cluster Construction Head – Jharkhand

1) Pre-construction Planning:

- Engage with stakeholders to understand project requirements and specifications.

- Develop Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and prepare detailed project proposals, including budget estimates, for management approval (NFAs).

- Collaborate with ERC team to create and finalize project drawings, ensuring they meet project requirements and obtain necessary approvals from management.

- Collaborate with the commercial team to float tenders, evaluate technical and price quotations, and assist in contractor negotiations for civil projects.

2) Project Construction Monitoring:

- Plan, monitor, coordinate, execute, inspect, and commission internal civil projects to ensure they align with the planned timeline, budget, and quality standards.

- Supervise field work, including contract work, to ensure adherence to company standards, procedures, specifications, codes, and statutory compliances.

- Ensure the timely completion of milestones while maintaining appropriate quality, time, and budgeted costs.

- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (designers, consultants, internal teams, and contractor teams) to ensure smooth project delivery.

- Conduct daily project review meetings with the civil team and contractors to track progress and take corrective actions to complete the project as per the budgeted cost and timeline.

- Ensure the highest level of quality systems are enforced and maintained on-site through adherence to project quality plans, QC audits, and ISO compliances.

3) O&M Responsibilities:

- Plan and budget for annual civil maintenance jobs, ensuring all maintenance activities are well-coordinated and within budget.

- Prepare cost estimations, drawings, and raise Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for various civil maintenance and repair works.

- Monitor maintenance works and take necessary actions to achieve schedule completion, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

- Coordinate with different departments and stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of maintenance activities.

 

4) Billing and Contractor Management:

- Review and certify invoices and claims submitted by contractors and consultants, ensuring they are accurate and justified.

- Ensure the timely processing of invoices to maintain smooth cash flow and contractor relations.

- Ensure contractors adhere to safety norms, maintaining a safe working environment.

- Achieve cost savings through innovative approaches and modifications, constantly reviewing and identifying alternate construction methodologies for quicker project delivery.

Expertise in cost estimation, budget management, and resource allocation for construction projects. Strong grasp of construction contracts, tendering processes, and vendor/supplier management.

Non-Negotiable Skills

Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects. Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities in a construction environment. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety standards.

Education Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Certification Required

Professional certification in Project Management (PMP) or equivalent is highly desirable. Valid license or certification in Construction Management or related field.

Experience

15-20 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, with a strong focus on managing large-scale construction projects. Demonstrated track record of successful project delivery within the stipulated timelines and budget constraints. Proven experience in leading and motivating a multidisciplinary construction team to achieve project objectives and quality benchmarks.
