Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing
Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Job Summary –

·            Implements activities and processes for all Sales & Marketing  while ensuring hotels in specified cluster are meeting revenue performance and brand objectives. Cluster consists of two Northern California  properties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities)

I.              Brand Integrity

·               Assists in driving the Company value, culture and brand throughout the organization.

·               Assists in developing training and communication materials that will help to proliferate and ensure that the culture, values and new brand image is being embedded in the workplace.

·               Assists in facilitating the establishments of property vision/mission, property identify guiding principles when there is new property start up or when there is a new Directors are hired.

·               Assists in driving the Company value, culture and brand throughout the organization.

·               Ensures brand integrity and alignment is always maintained.

II.     Sales & Marketing

·               Works with teams on annual budget preparation, marketing plan.

·               Supports owner relations through attendance in key meetings and annual budget presentations.

·               Develops strategies within the region to support revenue success.

·               Supports revenue and yield management practices with onsite teams to optimize performance.

·               Attends monthly financial reviews to support property team’s revenue success, strategy development and business needs.

III.    Associate Relations

·               Develops and recommends associate services programs that will enhance the wellness of associates, promote teamwork and associate satisfaction, and programs that will promote open communications.

·               Regularly review methods to improve synergies within the hotels and the region/area.

·               Monitor associate moral providing accurate feedback to Corporate

·               Develops and recommends associate services programs that will enhance the wellness of associates, promote teamwork and associate satisfaction, and programs that will promote open communications.

·               Supports the communication of AES Action Plans for Sales and Marketing in the region.

IV.    Pre-Opening Support

·               Ensures that all the S&M, Revenue and PR critical path and operating standards are implemented.

·               Supports the opening MD in the selection of the S&M team for the property for specified region.

·               In the absence of the property Director of DOSM in specified region, to temporarily assume the responsibility.

V.     Hotel / Regional Support

·               Ensure that all hotels implement group Sales and Marketing policies and procedures and implement suitable local Sales and Marketing policies and procedures.

·               Drive the strategy of the S&M Teams to prepare their Business Plans ensuring that relevant objectives are developed which fully address the business objectives of the hotel.

·               Ensure that all Group/Divisional reports and documents are completed accurately and in a timely manner, collating regional summaries where required.

·               Ensure all hotels develop a complete set of Departmental Operations Manuals which are annually reviewed to reflect current standards of performance.

·               Drives the the preparation of the Sales and Marketing Budget & Annual Plan for cluster hotels.

VI.    Talent Management and HR System

·               Assists in the overall Talent Management and Succession Plans for all hotels within region/area.

·               Monitor data integrity into Sales systems.

VII.  Learning and Development

·               Assists in the professional development of commercial talent in the cluster.

VIII. Other Standard Responsibilities

·               Complies with the Company policies.

·               Ensure legal compliance with respective regulations in their regions/area.

·               Works within all pre-set budgetary limits.

·               Takes on other tasks in addition of the ones states, in a reasonable framework.

·               Is a “Brand Ambassador” at all times and ensures brand integrity and clarity is always maintained.

·               Models the Company’s culture, vision, mission and core values at all times.

Required Skills –

·               Driving results – strategic thinker able to identify development needs 3 years ahead, able to get things done, strong influencing skills, good communication skills and team player.

·               Is analytical with the ability to use data effectively to support decision making.

·               Has good planning/ organizational skills.

·               International mindset and experience in working with diverse team and high cultural sensitivity.

·               Fluency in English.

Qualifications –

·               Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of international degree in Hotel Management or Marketing and progressive work-related experience.

Experience –

·               15+ years progressive work-related experience in the hotel industry is required.

·               7+ years in a management capacity is required.

·               Hotel Director of Sales and Marketing background.

·               Experience with mufti property or regional responsibilities desirable.

·               Experience in leading teams across multiple entities.

·             Geographical/International/Multicultural experience and exposure

Pay

The salary range for this position is $185,000 to $220,000 annually. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay. This position is eligible for bonus.

Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel luxury experience, location, and education.
