Description:This position is for 10am-3pm Tues-Friday

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.Execute prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitor and document treatment progress and patient response. Refer to/consult with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns. Review chart for medication refills, referrals and other patient care needs as they ariseDocument patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.Review chart for medication refills, referrals and other patient care needs as they ariseTriages patients and phone calls during business hours; and problem solves with staff, physicians, patients, families, and ancillary departments as appropriate.Communicate with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician.Understand behavior health triage process and assist patients in navigation of the behavior health processProven ability to exercise patience and understanding in high stress situationsPerform other duties as assigned.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Assists with miscellaneous office duties (i.e., greeting patients, maintenance patient record, answering phones, obtaining prior authorization and scheduling).Maintains patient care supplies, equipment, and environment.Provides orientation/education for staff, students, and residents as requested.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Possession of a current or compact state license as a Registered Nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa.Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter –Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.Basic Life Support certified within six (6) weeks of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
