Complies with all legal requirements of the medical center. Updates and maintains all EMR and transitions of hard copies to electronic records Cleans, stocks, and prepares all exam areas prior to patient appointments and after each patient is seen. Maintains stock levels for all medical supplies and submits requests to the manager. Verifies the Patients identity when taking the patient to the exam room. Verifies the reason for the visit. Assists the patient with ambulating, transferring to an exam table, and changing into an exam gown if necessary. Records and reports any changes in medical history prior to the practitioner seeing the patient. Reviews/updates medication. Checks and records patient vital signs, weight, and height into EMR. Checks vision. Performs EKG as necessary. Performs phlebotomy as needed. Performs any adjunct care for the patient, such as wound care, and dressings as ordered by the practitioner. Reports any abnormal findings to the practitioner. Coordinates any necessary appointments with the front desk staff. Assists the nurses and other staff as needed. Assists the front desk with administrative duties. Notifies the front desk of any appointments necessary. Advises the front desk of any changes to the schedules. Performs administrative tasks, including photocopying, faxing, and filing. Attends inter-office meetings as necessary. Keep all credentials and job requirements up to date. Complies with all mandatory trainings. Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records Experience with Microsoft Office. Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to all HIPPA requirements. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Education High School Diploma/GED required. Associate degree preferred. CNA/CMA certification from an accredited state program is required. 3 plus years of medical office experience required. Medical terminology and EMR experience preferred.
