\n \n Job Description

Position Purpose

\n\nPerforms skilled maintenance and repairs on equipment and accessories as required for the cost effective and efficient operation of the Community as directed by Supervisor, Board and Property Manager. \n\n

\n

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

\n\nResponsible for the care and upkeep of buildings and grounds for the community. \nCompletes minor repairs, ie: lighting, grounds, cleaning, plumbing, pool, locks, painting, and signage. \nMaintains work area, returns tools to proper location and reports any missing equipment to supervisor. \nMust have experience in repairing sheetrock and drywall.\nMust have knowledge of electrical repairs, including changing out light fixtures, ballasts, wall switches and timers.\nMust have good carpentry skills.\nMay be required to perform emergency duties on a call-out basis on nights and weekends.\nMust have exceptional attention to detail and good ability to retain memory.\nOther duties as assigned by Supervisor, Board or Property Manager.\n\n

Minimum Qualifications

\n\nKnowledge of hand and power tools and equipment used to perform repairs and maintenance. \nMust be responsible, honest and reliable; able to attend work on a regular basis. \nMust be able to work independently.\nMust be practical and stay calm in an emergency. \nMust have good verbal communication skills.\nMust understand safe working practices as well as health and safety regulations. \nMust be eighteen years of age or older.\nMust pass the Background Check and Drug Test.\nMust have a clean driving record for a minimum of 2 years. No tickets or accidents in the last 2 years.\nMust be able to work from ladders up to 40’ high\n5 years experience in general maintenance or building trades (preferred) \n\n

Education Required

\n\nProficiency using Microsoft Office applications and Outlook email.\nThe knowledge, skills, and abilities typically gained through the acquisition of a high school diploma and/or GED.\n\n Requirements

\n

Environmental Job Requirements

\n\nMajority of work is done outside during work hours. \nSome distractions due to occasional exposure to noise, dust, odors, heat, cold, heavy loads/lifting, etc.\nMust be flexible and enjoy a varied routine as days can rarely be planned. \nMust be reasonably fit; expect to be active for most of the working day.\n\n
