Job Description
We are seeking a CMM Inspector/Programmer for our large aerospace facility in Los Alamitos, CA. This position involves operating Zeiss CMM and Calypso 5.4 programming for production parts and tooling fixtures according to engineering drawings using precision inspection tools and gauges.
Pay will start between $75,000-$85,000 with the option for more once trained and up to speed. The role is a day shift position, with working hours from 6am-2:30pm Monday to Friday and overtime available.
ResponsibilitiesPerform in-process and final inspection of tools, fixtures, and jigs used in subassembly and final assembly of manufactured products.Analyze engineering blueprints, models, process specifications, shop travelers, and manufacturing planning documents to determine inspection requirements.Maintain accurate records of all tool calibration activities and monitor intervals with high accuracy.Collaborate with production supervisors and leads to ensure steady flows of tooling in and out of designated queues.Program and run Coordinate Measuring Machine with Calypso 5.4 software.Operate Metronics QC5000 CMM program and Romer Arm Verisurf with version 10 software.Maintain CMM cleanliness and operations.Operate and maintain Comparators.Interpret complex tool drawings.Use Standard Measuring Instruments (including sine plates) to make inspection set-ups.Initiate appropriate inspection reports and record inspection results.Maintain inspection data and file drawings and reports.Locate tools and perform periodic inspection on tooling listed on the monthly dispatch report.Essential SkillsProficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments typical of the tool and die making trade including coordinate measuring machines with Calypso 5.4 software, angle plates, dial indicators, gauge blocks, height gauges, parallels, protractors, sine bars, v-blocks, transits, levels, and other general inspection instruments.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.Working proficiency with shop geometry, trigonometry, and descriptive geometry.Effective interfacing across organizational levels.Good organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate, complete records.Problem-solving skills including root cause analysis and corrective actions.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.Computer proficiency including MS Office suite.
