Position Summary:

The CMM Inspector – Level 2 works with assistance and direction to use predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to perform in-process and completed inspections of products such as machine parts and mechanical assemblies. Uses various measuring devices to perform required inspections and accepts or rejects malfunctioning or non-conforming units or systems. Works from blueprints, digital models, diagrams or other customer specifications, and uses inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Shift:

Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm; orMonday-Friday, 3:20pm-11:50pm

 Reporting Relationships:

The CMM Inspector – Level 2 reports directly to the Inspection Supervisor.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

First part inspection of machined parts utilizing DCC CMM’s and or manual inspection methodsFinal inspection of Aerospace productEnter data using Syteline/ESI or other ERP systems as directedArrange inspection work queues to identify priority work, move completed work to next staging areaIdentify and segregate non-conforming productConduct product verification in accordance with inspection plans and applicable process practices used in the work centerActively follow instructions as required in all aspects of the work assignment and have a working knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines. May occasionally perform special projects Other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills/Experience:

Solid experience with CMM’s with proven history.Good knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods per ASME 14.5Good knowledge of common inspection  measuring equipment including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (running PCDMIS software).Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)Ability to use Syteline/ESI or other ERP systems after instructionBlueprint reading and basic math skillsGood manual dexterityAbility to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with othersAttention to detailBasic English language skills and the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructionsWillingness to learnVision test required per customer specifications2+ years with recent aircraft machine shop experience
