Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Performs CMP- polishing steps as per Operating Procedures (SOPs) to obtain optimal wafer parameters Perform incoming wafer inspection and measurements and record results Document Wafer information and lot movement into database and /or in assigned areas as instructed Perform machine preparation tasks and checks prior to process start Selects process recipes, obtain visual confirmation of their execution as well as demonstrate some basic understanding of the process Monitor machine and accessory equipment during processing and be able to handle basic errors; track status of multiple sub-systems required for successful processing Participate in preventive maintenance and perform routine tasks Safe handling of chemicals used in CMP: Utilize all required PPE and performs all Safety mandated chemical handling procedures. Read and understand Chemical SDSs. Understand pH, mass-volume and pressure-flow measurements as well as grasp their procedures for calibration. Assist in polishing experiments as part of engineering-directed, contract or internally funded, process development programs Participate in the documentation of new and upgraded polishing procedures and specifications; especially the critique of procedures performed. Provide feedback and assistance in the implementation and execution of a CMP Process Development Plan (CPDP). Support the training of new employees assigned to the CMP process.. Provides support to track and change consumables, follows SOPs on their change-out, installation and set-up, and seek assistance as needed Maintain clean semiconductor production work areas as well as process housekeeping (cleanliness) requirements.Education & Experience
High School Diploma. College level courses in math, physics, metrology, or chemistry are preferred. Experience with networked PC based computer system. (Excel, Email, and MRP) and operating computer controlled equipment Experience with problem analysis and resolution and reporting and documentation skills. Experience with 5S considered a plus, but not required.Skills
Must be technically inclined with mechanical skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and procedures while offering suggestions for continuous improvement. Understanding of SPC fundamentals is a big plus. Manufacturing/production environment with some noise. Closed toe shoes required.Physical Requirements

All employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards. This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job responsibilities.
Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training, work instructions, required PPE is available, and will monitor compliance.
