The Chemical Mechanical Planarization manufacturing business is seeking a CMPT Improvement Engineer at the site in Hsinchu Site II, Jhunan.  This business unit is part of DuPont’s Electronics and Industrial Division.  Electronics and Imaging is comprised of a number of high growth global businesses supplying a broad array of materials to multiple consumer electronics and industrial sectors.  The CMP facilities consist of polymer manufacturing, and numerous converting operations such as finishing. 

  

The role provides technical expertise and direction to improve our competitive advantage for the manufacturing of CMP pads.  The CMPT Improvement Engineer is recognized as a leader and expert in that technology and leads projects to upgrade processes and products that may range from incremental improvements to major technology changes.  A primary focus is to develop improved process mechanical, instrumentation and control strategies, process safety, productivity, yield, quality, plant capacity and uptime performance.    

Responsibilities:

Continuous improvements to process mechanical design and operation of pad manufacturing tools and modules. 

Develop Basic data for capital improvement projects including working with vendors and other team members.

Identifies and works with technical personnel to develop best practices for process(es) and most effective technologies.

Drives product by process through development and documentation of manufacturing standard processes.

Drive process improvements that benefit yield, quality, uptime and capacity.

Leads troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex manufacturing problems.

Responsible to develop plans for and support Commissioning, Decommissioning, Start-Up and Shut Down activities.

Responsible for the qualification of new equipment

Minimum qualifications:

BS or MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related background; minimum 5 years experience

Preferred qualifications:

Industrial plant experience working with PSM critical processes/systems.

Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, solve or help others solve equipment and/or process issues.

Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor, develop others, and work in a team based environment

Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects

Demonstrated skill in team building and achieving results through influence and negotiation

Good interpersonal and communication skills; must work well in both self-managed and team environment
