CNA 2 - Medical Surgical

CNA 2 – Medical Surgical Unit at Providence Seaside Hospital.  This posting represents a .9 FTE, day shift opening (7am-7:30pm, 3, 12 hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends.

In this position you will:  

Contribute to a high functioning team   Assist RN with admissions, discharges, and transfers  Measure and record vital signs, output, and weights    Collect specimens and perform fingerstick capillary blood tests   Assist with client mobility and transfers, using lifts and safe patient handling devices   Opportunities for continuing education and professional development, including annual CNA conference   Other duties as assigned  

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA2) is responsible for performing direct patient care services related to activities of daily living and for auxiliary support as related to nursing unit functioning. An employee responsible for patient care must be competent in the assessment, treatment, and age-related care. Consequently, the employee must be competent in the interpretation of a patient's self-report or behavior, and this information must be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional/psychosocial and chronological maturation process. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each.

Required qualifications:

Coursework/Training and Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course. CNA 2 coursework: Grandfathered to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements. Upon hire: Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License  Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred qualifications:

1 year of experience as a CNA 2.
