Responsibilities
Activities of Daily Living (bathing, grooming, feeding, basic hygiene)Basic nursing care activities (vital signs, observation and reporting of signs and symptoms of disease state, posturals, simple dressing changes)Assist in patient mobility (ambulate, turn, position, range of motion, transfers)Light housekeeping duties, patient laundryBedside testing of blood glucoseRespiratory care (encouraging incentive spirometry, positioning, maintaining humidification of oxygen containers, maintaining nebulizer equipment integrity, performing oxygen saturation checks, cough assistances, suctioning)

High school diploma or GED required.· Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant (or military medical specialty training) program OR Licensed Practical Nursing program required.Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (or active NA-R and proof of passing the WA NA-C exam) or LPN with the Washington State Nursing Commission.Current healthcare provider American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.Basic skills in using a PC required. Demonstrated experience as a nursing assistant required.Must be able to lift, move or assist patients using proper body mechanics. The ability to occasionally lift or push up to 50 lbs. and pull up to 100 lbs. is also required.
NOTE: If you have not just completed a Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) training program in the last 4 months & received WA Licensure with Department of Health or worked as a paid Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) in the last 24 months, you must re-train and re-test in order to be eligible to work at Bailey-Boushay House as Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C).
