**Hiring CNC Lathe Machinist $20-34/HR**
**Job Description**
The CNC Lathe Machinist position is responsible for the set-up and operation of CNC machines in compliance with inch and metric drawing specifications. This role requires a commitment to the mission and the ability to work as part of a team to achieve common objectives.
**Responsibilities**
+ Set up and operate CNC machines to machine flat and formed parts to inch and metric drawing specifications.
+ Act as a technical resource regarding tooling and machining capabilities.
+ Evaluate and justify new tooling and machining processes.
+ Communicate issues relating to work orders, programming errors, material shortages, or errors.
+ Maintain a continuous focus on the reduction of material, labor, and scrap.
+ Perform minor maintenance activities as required by the preventive maintenance program.
+ Participate in continued education and training including, but not limited to: ISO 9001, safety, blueprint reading, and teamwork.
+ Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
+ Record labor for job tracking.
+ Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
+ Lead large projects from start to finish.
+ Interact with engineering on the design of parts.
+ Provide advice on corrective actions that need to be taken.
+ Document red lines.
+ Monitor line side inventory.
+ Perform other duties as requested.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with CNC machine setup and operation.
+ Ability to edit, troubleshoot, and change over CNC machines.
+ Strong machine operating skills.
+ Understanding of inch and metric drawing specifications.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
+ Effective communication skills.
+ Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Interest in personal learning and development.
+ Ability to anticipate changes in work demands and participate in related training.
+ Experience with ISO 9001, safety protocols, and blueprint reading.

**Work Environment**

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, Oregon.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $34.00
